Great simple review to living a healthier lifestyle
This book is a pretty straightforward guide on how to make a few key changes in order to live a healthier lifestyle. I’m a certified PT myself and have pondered what the best way is to get the key points across to the general public without confusing the hell out of them. There are a few things I disagree with as im a big meat eater and the author is clearly a plant head. But all the key points are pretty solid about nutrition, digestion, gut health etc and mostly substantiated by literature. Overall this was a great read and I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for ways to lead a healthier life or even as a good refresher on the basics of health that we already know.

Glad I picked this one up!
I found this book to be an excellent guide to strength training. The author goes through everything you will need to know and do to burn more fat and build better strength in your body. I really appreciate that this book emphasizes creating lean, athletic muscles that are strong but not overly bulky. As a woman, this is exactly what I am looking for. I want to keep my muscles long and lean while still being as strong as possible. Although the author stresses lean muscles, you will still need to lift weights that are quite heavy, so you will be building up your endurance and strength over time. Also, there is no cardio, so this may appeal to many people! The author also states that he works out only 3 hours per week, and still maintains these results. That is definitely a selling point! Each strength move included in the book has a description, and recommended sets and reps. There is even sample routines that you can either use as is, or adjust to make it fit your personal situation and desired results. This book will help you set goals for yourself as well as find the right routine long term. The author touches on healthy nutrition, and includes some helpful bonus material. Glad I picked this one up!

Good short read. Not a cure all, but very helpful.
I truly enjoyed this book. It was very informative and helpful as a first source of information. Most of the information was very intriguing, understanding why many bodybuilding myths could be debunked with evidence was helpful. I wouldn’t use this as my only source of information, there is a lot of information and studies out for supplements and to come to a conclusion could be difficult. For example, I use a different type of protein, the author is not wrong, but we may have different goals and opinions. After reading through the reviews, I do agree that the author loses scientific backing at the end of the book. I do agree with his views in these section but a reference here and there about creatine and Pre-workout would be nice.Overall, I recommend this read. As with everything use it as supplemental information with other research.

An engaging read on nutrition like a chat with a wise friend over coffee
An engaging read right from the start! it’s like talking with a wise friend over coffee on topics we care about: Food, nutrition, health and wellbeing – with some laughs in between. I definitely agree on that instead of becoming a slave of our diets; a nutritious diet plan should be easy to follow and maintain. This book provides concise and easy to follow checklists, supported with personal experiments as well as stories of his personal training friends. If you hate reading those textbook-like nutrition book filled with unfriendly statistics and terminologies, you’ll love this. You can also save yourself 4093 cans of tuna (or 15 years of experience) to demystify some nutrition myths that you hear every day from the media. To conclude, a wonderful reading experience and very practical tips and information!

    Filler Material
I’m conflicted about this book. On one hand, the author does a really good job at simplifying the important stuff, what you want to eat, what to stay away from and why. I also like the fact that at the end of every chapter he reiterates his main points. On the other hand, there’s alot of filler material, alot of it comes across as every fitness ad trying to sell you things online.”Are you struggling to lose weight? Annoyed at the lack of muscle definition? Fed up with eating “lowfat” foods and still fat?” kinda stuff. That’s not the back of the book, that’s the 3rd chapter. At one point he just starts listing 5 pages worth of his favorite smoothie recipes. Also, some of his advice on soluble fat is contradicting. At first he says it’s good, but then a page later he says to stay away and that science hasn’t determined whether or not it’s good. Some of the material is also pretty repetitive. He explains sugars, which to eat and which to avoid, why bad sugars are bad for you, but this takes up half a chapter, then he starts a whole new chapter all about it, repeating alot of the same information. I couldn’t count how many times hes told us sodas are bad and eat vegetables. It’s still worth the read if you know little to nothing about nutrition and want to learn, it’s very informative, but just be aware that there’s a ton of filler material here.

Well written, evidence based, easy to follow book!
One of THE BEST short and well written books on proper nutrition, wellbeing and timing of meals ever.!!!It pin points with scientific facts, humor and concise examples ,all the many myths and misconceptions one hears about from the “enthusiast” gym goers and pop culture ,and hypes about supplements and frequent meals. As a physician and personal experience with keeping with a nice phisyque at my age I PRAISE the author’s efforts to keep it simple and truthful ,to achieve the best results when combining proper nutrition and enough exercise.

Bought this for my wife / review left by her as well:I will start by saying I’ve been going to the gym for over 10 years and have tried many fad diets and supplements. So thought I would see what this book had to offerI love this book! I read through it within 2 days as it was easy to read and follow.Definitely had some great information and I really appreciated the plain facts.I really enjoyed how it was as if I was having a personal training session because the way it was written, it was as if I was sitting with Marc (the author) and he was just being real with me.Will be looking at his other books and definitely ordering thoseMy only wish was that it was longer 🙂
