One of THE BEST biology products for hands on learning
I love this book so much. I needed a book to supplement biology curriculum. When I found this book I thought it may be a good fit as it seemed to have hands on components as students are to assemble the pieces by cutting and gluing/ taping. Then coloring, and then thereâs an interactive end result of a finished organ system or body system. This company out does itself as far as creating an innovative product for learning about biology that provides hands on experiences. Much of learning products now are online based, or have long text. This product did not have that. It is super easy to use, easy to teach from, and has little informational and helpful blurbs before each section of cut out activities. It is structured as follows: blurb on topic, pages of templates to cut out, then assemble the pieces, and you have an interactive tool to use in learning. Another fun add on activity is to have students color in the pieces differently based on your focus of study. Then, students can also label the piece at the end, either by cutting out the words too when cutting out the templates, or creating your own labels by writing the words on paper and then cutting them each out. This way, thereâs a labeled piece.I cannot express how happy I am to find hands on learning resources such as this. They are few and far to come by and way too expensive typically for an educator to afford. However, this book provides invaluable resources for topics in biology involving the human body system. I used it in a secondary level but it could even be used at the primary and middle school level with some modifications. One thing I do want to note, although I do not know if it is just something students need to adjust to doing or if thereâs a easy fix⦠however, after completing 2-3 of these projects, I had some students very tired of cutting the precise templates out , especially the smaller parts. I ended up needing to help various students cut different parts at times. I donât know if I would change this book at all as it largely depends on the students functioning and academic levels. However, I do recommend making a lower adapted level version of this book for other students and learners. Perhaps make a version with less intense cutting. For instance, less tight spaces to cut, less angled cuts. And no inner cutting out pieces. I feel that would help adapt to all learners and make this product even more versatile so teachers can differentiate to all levels of learning.

Great book – get the ebook to print from to make your life easy!
Great book – I love the flexibility of the content. I love that it builds a whole body by the end of it. It’s got lots of fun extension activities. I’m using this with my 7 and 10 year olds for homeschool science. However, I definitely recommend buying the ebook pdf from Scholastic to go along with this, for ease of printing. The hardcopy book is setup for photocopying so you can’t just cut everything out, its all double-sided so it would wreck the project if you did that. So I use the physical book as my teaching material/reference and print from the ebook. Works great!

Homeschool Anatomy
So far this book has been a great add on to our homeschool anatomy class. The directions can be a bit confusing at times but it just takes trial and error. That is the only downfall, the projects are a great way to help the kiddos understand the structure of the human body. Additionally it comes with descriptions and activities on how to further help explain that specific part of the body.Love it great visual for the kiddos, would definitely recommend.

Good but could use some common sense improvements.
I like how detailed this book is and that it goes into all the different body systems. But it’s very frustrating when a book meant to be cut out has the cut-out on one side with the directions on the other because if you cut the page the directions are gone. Obviously, the solution is to photocopy the pages but a) the paper is so thin the other side faintly shows up the photocopies, and b) it’s almost impossible to successfully photocopy the pages while still bound. The dotted lines along the spine indicate the pages are meant to be separated, but the publisher chose not to perforate them, which means you need to tear them out and risk tearing the thin pages, or cut them out with scissors both of which are a colossal waste of time.Ultimately, I made it work despite the flaws, but thicker paper, cut-outs printed on one side only, and/or perforated pages, which make this 3.5-star book could turn this into a 5-star book.

great purchase for my 3rd grade classroom
I’ve bought several copies of this over the years for my own children and for my students. It can be used in so many ways and for the low cost of copies, students can put together a very nice skeleton. The illustrations are clear and easy to understand.

Great book for studying human body systems.
Love this book! Great models for studying human body systems and either creating them separately, or combining them to layer onto one large human body model. We homeschool and this has been a fun spine for our unit. I wish it also included the reproductive systems. I am looking for a similar paper model to help work on the male and female systems so if anyone has supplemented the book and has a resource to share that would be great. Thank you!

This book is awesome! First of all the models are REPRODUCIBLE so this is a huge plus. And the kids just love making them. Really solidifies our learning. Highly recommend, great value.
