Excellent for Pre-K students
My son is 4 and he is learning Initial sounds/ cap letters and lower case…, This book is really good… I read him the instructions and explained with an example….this help me and my son to support what he is learning at school. If you think that this book is too easy… then.. look for something else… other than that I love this book… and all Scholastic ones.

Helpful but not bountiful
“Little Skill Seekers: Beginning Sounds” is a workbook designed to help young children develop their phonics skills, particularly focusing on the identification of beginning sounds in words. Hereâs a concise review of its features and effectiveness:ProsEngaging Activities: The book includes a variety of colorful and fun activities that can capture the interest of young learners, such as matching pictures with sounds, coloring, and tracing letters.Skill Development: It effectively introduces and reinforces the concept of beginning sounds, which is a fundamental phonics skill crucial for early reading development.Clear Instructions: The instructions are straightforward and easy for both parents and children to follow.Age-Appropriate: The content is suitable for preschoolers and kindergarteners, making it a good fit for early learners.ConsLimited Content: The book offers a focused approach on beginning sounds but doesn’t provide a comprehensive phonics program. It’s more of a supplementary resource rather than a standalone phonics curriculum.Repetition: Some parents might find the activities repetitive after a while, which might not hold the child’s interest in the long run.Duration of Use: Due to the limited number of pages and activities, children might complete the workbook relatively quickly.Overall Impression”Little Skill Seekers: Beginning Sounds” is a helpful resource for introducing young children to the concept of beginning sounds. It’s well-suited for short, engaging learning sessions at home or in a preschool setting. However, it should be used alongside other educational materials to provide a more comprehensive phonics education.
