Intrigued by the promise of Rosemary Mint, I decided to try this clarifying shampoo from OGX. Right off the bat I have to say, the fragrance does not disappoint, it smells clean and invigorating.This shampoo promises to refresh and clarify hair, ridding it of oil and residue that cause buildup. I’ve enjoyed using it, mostly because of the scent, but I also like that it lathers really well and rinses easily.The first few times I used this shampoo my hair felt very soft and had some bounciness to it afterward. But now it’s been over a week of using it and my hair is looking a bit dull and limp again.In checking the ingredients I see that this shampoo contains silicone. It’s ironic to me that a shampoo that is supposed to clear build up has a silicone, because silicone forms a film on the hair that can actually cause build up and dullness!Besides that, the shampoo also contains PEG-150 (polyethylene glycol), which is a petrochemical that during the manufacturing process can release ethylene oxide and 1,4 dioxane. Ethylene oxide is a known carcinogen and dioxane is a suspected carcinogen.So, even though I liked this shampoo at first, after noticing new buildup in my hair and reading the ingredients I have discontinued use and cannot recommend.
