Pretty good anatomy review
Bought this because I was so impressed by the Human Brain Coloring Book from Coloring Concepts. Iâm not as impressed by this one, but itâs still very useful as a learning tool. The structures arenât quite as clearly described in this book – while there is a text page to accompany every illustration, I donât get the impression that the writing and illustrations were developed together to fully complement each other. The text doesnât necessarily describe or explain every structure thatâs labeled in the illustration, and the illustration doesnât necessarily show every element thatâs described in the text. Itâs not a big deal, but the brain coloring book set my expectations pretty high and this one felt a little disappointing in comparison.Pros:- Over 150 detailed anatomical illustrations for coloring- Mostly well labeled- Very detailed- An excellent companion to an anatomy & physiology course- The pages are sturdy (though markers still bleed through a little)- The process of coloring the images seems to really help reinforce the informationCons:- Labeling (while mostly fine) can be flawed:- Sometimes itâs unclear where one structure ends and another begins- Sometimes not every part of an illustration is labeled- A few of the labels are misspelled or incorrectThereâs still a lot of good information and coloring in here and I expect to learn/review a lot.
