Fun and easy to learn
While watching my grandchild a few days each week during school vacation, we are both learning to draw animals! The pictured steps help us notice the small differences from picture to picture. We are successful very quickly. This is a fun activity that we can use along with writing a few fun facts about the animal we drew, making up a story, or telling about an experience we had with that type animal. Drawing has been a springboard into several other non-screen activities we can do together.

This how-to-draw book is fantastic! It’s great for young people. My 7-year-old daughter draws from it all the time. She’s more artistic than I am, but even I can follow the step-by-step instructions. :)It groups the animals by category (like “sea creatures”, “forest animals”, etc) which is also fun. Sometimes she likes to draw a scene with a few animals from a certain type, and this small detail of organization helps with that. It also has a fun fact about the animal you’re drawing. Highly recommend!
