I have used Norelco 3-floating-head shavers for decades. Although I have occasionally strayed to other models featuring a traditional foil interface (Braun, Panasonic, Remington), and have even used top-end shavers from those brands, for day-to-day shaving, I always come back to the 3-floating-head design. The main reason is that the float head design works better on my neck and jaw-line regions. No matter how hard I try, the foil shavers don’t quite get those areas. If I want to use only a single shaver, Iâll pick the floating head design. (Sometimes, Iâll use both types).I own a top-of-the-line modern Norelco shaver and several older Norelcos that go from previous high-end to entry level. (Over the years, you accumulate a lot of shavers). So I have a pretty good idea of what a good rotary shaver can deliver, and of what an entry-level shaver provides.First things first: This shaver provides a adequate entry-level shave, but it feels a bit underpowered compared to an entry-level Norelco shaver. It got the job done with a light (single days’s growth) beard, with some effort. But I wouldn’t look to this to easily deal with multi-day growth.The area where this is superior to an entry-level Norelco is in the battery. The Li-Ion battery is rated for 120 minutes on a 90 minute charge. You can also use it while charging (a nice touch). While top-end Norelcos can better this, the low-end shavers still use older battery technology and are typically rated for less than half of what this promises on a single charge.Besides the shaver attachment, this kit also comes an interchangable head to perform clipping. The clipper attachment is pretty lousy–not even as good as the clippers that are sometimes integrated into the side of a shaver. My experience is that the blades don’t hold up as well as with a name brand like Norelco, so you may need to replace them much sooner. It’s not clear where you’d get a replacement blade unit, either. It appears that the entire unit needs to be replaced when the blades get dull. To clean the shaver head assembly, you just pull the top portion away from the bottom, which three clips hold in place. This one might be a keeper! As a POC, it’s very hard to have real razors on your skin because it causes real bad ingrown hairs, which can be painful and very un-attractive. So I’m always on the look out for a new item that might give a closer shave.I’m not too big of a fan of foil shavers because they don’t get as close as they should and then sometimes it can be painful because not all foil shavers are created equally. This one might be a keeper. It’s close but not very close and sometimes my hair gets pulled instead of being cut. I know that most foil shavers aren’t created for African-American skin, so I understand that going in.The unit does have a strong battery and seems like it would last a while. I couldn’t give this a higher mark because the trimmer doesn’t come with an electrical attachment. It has a charger cord and allows you to put it in the base to be charge, but once again it doesn’t come with the plug to charge it up. It can only be chaged up through a USB connection. I haven’t been in a restroom that has that connection. As time goes on i’m sure that they will be common real soon after most products move over to being one charger to charge them all. So right now you would need to provide the wall plug in.I do love the fact that it has digital information on the unit to let you know how much charge is left on the unit before a recharge, if the unit needs to be cleaned and a handy travel lock so that it is not turned on by accident and run the battery down. The other issue is that I’m a little worried if you will have to replace the foil attachments. I’m not sure if they make them to fit all models, but if they do, you might be able to get some that might be created for POC.

Iâve reviewed a lot of shavers in the past be it a head shaver or face shaver and I always start by saying that as you can see I have a full beard but I test all the shavers on my head that has more dents and bumps than most chins so will give any shaver a run for itâs money and I have to say for a standard stand alone 3 headed shaver itâs great, what I mean by stand alone is that you get the shaver, a sideboard trimmer blade cover and charging cable and plug, thatâs it. As you can see in my pictures and video it left me with a smooth shiny head with no nicks or cuts and no shaving burns, a 6 minute shave only used 1% of battery so still plenty left. The three cutting heads pivot and move really well keeping them close to the skin. The price I think is excellent value for money and I give 5 stars all round.

I usually wet shave with a Gillette razor, but there are times when a quick dry shave would be more convenient, I did try a similar shaver to this from a big brand and didn’t get on with it at all and finished up with nasty razor burn on my neck. So I decided to give this one a go, and I am pleasantly surprised. The shave is actually quite close and apart from me being a bit heavy handed the first time I used it I haven’t had any problems with irritated skin.It is quite light and it is very easy to swap between the razor had and the trimmer, which is also effective and easy to use. It has a handy digital display to show battery life remaining and after a week of use I still have around 60% of the battery left. It is fairly quick to charge and comes with a USB-C cable, but no charger plug, this isn’t an issue for me as I have loads of them.Overall I like this product and the only slight issue I have is that it sounds a bit cheap and rough when running, it doesn’t sound like a premium product. But then again it might be very cheap, but I can’t see the price at the moment as it showing as unavailable.
