You don’t want one of those rollers that just deflate as soon as you put any weight on them. If you are like me and your muscles get super tight, a good roller is a must have to properly break up your muscles.Cons: VERY VERY firm. If you don’t have dense muscle tissue, you are better off with another roller. It can sometimes be painful (but in a good way), when you hit a super tight spot.

I’ve read a lot of reviews about how hard this is compared to the original. I have the original roller and although this new one is harder, it’s not as hard as a PVC pipe. It’s perfect. If you have pain using this roller, then it’s because of your trigger points. Duh. Keep rolling. One another note, I wished I would have purchased the smaller size with my first foam roller. They’re less expense, you can roll every body part, including your mid-upper back, and it fits in track bag.

A miracle for back problems
So glad I finally invested in a foam roller. I’ve had tension in my upper back for as long as I can remember, resulting in constant dull pain and increased headaches. After a fair amount of research I chose this roller, liking the stiff inner cylinder surrounded by firm foam. I used it immediately out of the box, and felt instant noticeable relief. Roll slowly and you can get a nice “pop” out of your back, or linger in one spot to reach massage-like pressure points. It feels sturdy and long-lasting, but it really is FIRM, and use can be on the edge of painful, but for me it is well worth the benefits.

This is a good, very firm foam roller. I’ve used every type there is including trading the foam rolls for a PVC pipe once recommended by a trainer. I purchased the TriggerPoint roller because I needed to try something new in an effort to help my IT bands loosen up because they stay really tight no matter what. I learned a few things including that the “divots” in this foam roller don’t really increase the benefits of foam rolling. For me at least, it seemed to actually have the slight opposite effect because when you use a smooth surface foam roller you can better feel the location of the knots/ adhesions that need to be rolled out – with the ridges and divots in this foam roller you can’t feel them out very well. Overall, I still think it’s ok and works fine, but a smooth surface foam roller is better in my opinion so I’ll be switching back.

This is an absolutely amazing roller. Iâve owned 2-3 previously, from all foam to a harder inner core like this one, the foam ones are no match for pressure and acuteness, and Iâve broken two other name brand rollers that touted extreme strength with just normal rolling. Iâm 6â2 190 or so, that shouldnât be happening. With this roller thatâs never a concern, from neck to hammies this thing can get right where you want how you want for as long as you want. For serious rollers, this is where you need to be.
