Great recipes and great information
I’ve been eating paleo on-and-off for about a year with a definite improvement in my overall health, and have been able to shed about 15 pounds without counting calories or macros. As keto has gained traction, I’ve become interested in the science behind it, but not totally convinced I would want to delve into keto and start eating a ton of dairy after finally cutting out most of it. (Diane explains how to approach keto dairy-free!). My curiosity (and my love for her earlier book, Practical Paleo) led me to buy Keto Quick Start. I love that Diane shows you how to eat keto without a bunch of weird supplements or testing ketones! Dairy is optional in KQS recipes. This book is very well researched, but explained so that anyone can understand. If you’re a graphic learner, there are tons of illustrations. The recipes are delicious and NORMAL! You don’t have to buy a ton of weird ingredients! And the food is stuff people already eat – like roasted chicken, meatballs, and pancakes.Even if you’re not 100% convinced you want to go full keto, a lot of these recipes are great for at-work lunches. All of the recipes I’ve tried from this book have filled me up until dinner time. Finally, I don’t feel hangry around 3 PM. Thank you, Diane, for putting together such a great resource. You’ve done it again!

This book is a standout in the keto space and is so needed! In a world where so many keto enthusiasts are obsessing over sky high ketone levels vs quality of food and eating nothing but meat, cheese and more cheese, Dianeâs approach is refreshing, simple and smart. Keto QuickStart outlines how to take a whole foods approach to keto, dispels many myths as it relates to eating veggies (yes!), how much protein you need to feel satisfied and succeed on a keto diet (about 30 grams per meal at least), and answers pretty much every question youâd have while youâre just getting familiar with this new way of fueling your body.Diane has a great ability to simplify information that could be overly complicated and intimidating, and instead make it approachable and interesting. In all of her books, she finds a way to write about a diet in a way that is not centered around weight loss but on overall health and quality of life. She genuinely wants people to listen to their bodies and find the best approach for them, and if someone feels great eating higher carb vs keto, she is not the type to call the keto police or pass judgement at all. Plus, her books are always beautifully designed, with incredible infographics, charts and journal templates. The overall look and feel of Keto QuickStart is similar to her best selling book Practical Paleo, and I bet this new book will be just as popular and become the gold standard for all things keto.I have a few other keto books and I wish this one was out when I started to educate myself on this way of eating. Itâs so much easier to follow and the recipes are delicious! So far, Iâve made the chicken tenders, hidden veggie burgers and Mediterranean meatloaf, and love them all. So much flavor and packed with nutrition! The recipes call for a ton of fresh herbs and spices that really take the flavor profile up a notch. Whether youâre following the keto diet or not, the recipes are approachable and tasty, and definitely not food that someone who isnât following this diet would describe as a keto meal. Iâm planning to attend one of Dianeâs book tour events and canât wait to pick up a few more copies for friends and family!

Diane has thought of everything. This book is fantastic and is perfect for those interested in a Ketogenic diet. She does a great job explaining Ketosis and using fat for fuel. I love that Diane is a foodie and takes the time to talk about sourcing good quality food and fats. This book also comes with Keto Swap recommendations, meal plans, shopping lists, and really amazing recipes. It truly is comprehensive,but also super easy to get through to get started. I have other Keto books, and this is by far my favorite and the one I always refer back to and use for recipes. She even included spice blend recipes and recipes for sauces, condiments, and dressings. I could go on, but you should just get this book already and get started! I personally followed a paleo lifestyle for years and felt that I needed to tweak some things in my diet and now that Iâve been following a Keto lifestyle, Iâm not having digestive issues and bloating. Also, Iâm not getting those cravings like I used to and my overall health and energy levels are better, not to mention that Iâm down 10 pounds in the last two months.

I am new to Diane Sanfilippo so this was my first cookbook of hers. While I liked the information, and the recipes looked delicious, I was annoyed by the complicated spice blends that most recipes required. Ten different spice blends in all.You can order the spice blends directly from her, or make them yourself. Still giving it four stars because the information was good.

Great guide to the keto way of eating. Iâve read numerous keto books and have been left confused on where to start. Diane has done a great job of explaining everything we need to know about getting started on keto and not leaving us scratching our heads when weâre done reading. There is lots of great content, one of my favourite sections of the book is the Keto Dining by Cusine Type. Great read Dianne!

I never give 5 stars to anything but this book is exceptional. I bought about 5 books for the keto diet and this is the best. It is clearly laid out in a good font, well illustrated, well laid out in manageable portions and had the most useful information that gave me confidence. Even though it is entitled Quick Start it is actually a comprehensive book which covers all aspects including issues you may have when starting a keto diet and how to deal with them.

This is an excellent book for anyone who is new to the Keto Diet. The book has ten chapters that focus on nutrition with titles like: Burning Fat for Fuel, Choosing Healthy Fats, Getting Started on Your Keto Quick Start, FAQs and Meal Plans. The rest of the book is dedicated to recipes for breakfast, chicken dishes, beef dishes, pork and seafood dishes. There are also recipes for sides, snacks and dips, spice blends sauces and dressings and treats. At the back of the book , there is an allergy index, recipe index and general index.I have made the Italian Sausage, Pepper and Spinach Frittata, the Best Tasting Chicken and the Lemon Caper Salmon recipes and they all turned out great. I also made the Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie, but I didn’t like it, however, it was as good as others I’ve seen similar books.The recipes work well for people who are on grain free diets and can be modified to fit with the SCD diet and other food allergies. I’m glad I bought the book and look forward to trying some of the other recipes.

Full disclosure, I am a huge fan of Diane Sanflilippo, so when she announced her Keto cookbook I was super excited as I had just started the Keto diet. Her book like her others, are practical full of knowledge and science, but not overwhelming or complicated. Part science and part food – you cannot go wrong with grabbing this book! Her recipes are fantastic, well laid out, and easy to follow, not to mention extremely tasty. So if you are new to Keto or a seasoned Keto-er, grab this book, you will learn a lot and have fantastic food.
