Very useful for Special Needs kid
I bought this book an year ago. When I tried this the first time, it felt like my kid was not getting it. But, a month back I tried again and he easily understood the pattern. Kid was able to take his understanding about the fist few lessons and use it to read 3 letter words. Less pictures, black and red colors of letters make the book less overwhelming and easy to use especially with special needs kid with attention problems.

Modified t and q
I like this book and recommend it. However, letter q doesnât have the back stroke and t has a curve at the bottom, at least until the sentences start. Then it changes. I added the back stroke to the q with a pen and I used white out to cover the curve on the t.Without the back stroke on the q my son confuses it with a p and the t looks like an upside f to him. Making these small changes helped us a lot.

My daughter finished this book. The perfect size lessons. She just turned three and can read Bob books but preferred these lessons as they are so quick! Left off at 5-6 word sentences. Very helpful to have my daughter sound out the words then have to remember each word to read the whole sentence all together.

The simplicity of this book is a gem. No unnecessary instructions, extra writing, pictures. Just the phonics letters (âsoundsâ) your kid needs to look at and say for reading success.
