It IS accurate, but could have been a bit shorter for babies.
I am a nurse and this thing is accurate, and read out is VERY FAST. THIS is THE fastest monitor i have. I also have an adult pulse ox, too, and i expected this pediatric one to be significantly smaller than my adult one. It is somewhat smaller, but the red light sensor is almost just as far from edge as the adult version is !!! Almost. The seller says it is not for babies, but, i was hoping…… It does work on toddlers. It “could” work on babies who have longer fingers………..This is MUCH FASTER than any of my growing collection of monitors, and i now use this monitor on Everyone—- adults, kids, tots, and most babies—-because THIS one DOES give an INSTANT read out and it IS accurate………….. I am so grateful today’s monitors now have the waveform monitor (the waveform is way better than the bouncing dot of old days, which we never knew if that was a pulse or artifact) THIS one? is SUPER fast and has accurate waveform………………………………….The respiratory ‘rate’ number(how many breaths per minute the child is taking) that number is NOT accurate on ANY of the finger monitors and i have tested dozens of these monitors, it’s what i do,, but All the other read-outs on THIS monitor ARE accurate. The pulse rate is accurate, the spo2 is accurate. but that breath rate is not accurate on ANY finger monitor, not yet anyway, maybe in the future……………If someone ever invents a pulse oximeter that puts the sensor red light a bit closer to edge for SHORTER FINGERS? that person will make a fortune. ……………..That said,it is a bit more snug than my adult one is, so that helps on tots, but this one is “almost” just as long as my adult one is. I can use this on adults or kids or toddlers, but it is hard to use on the smallest of newborn babies, which is what i wanted. (for newborns and smallest babies, we often have to use the tape on wrap-around sensors which take time, and are clumsy to apply on wriggling baby, when all we wanted was an instant quickie check on baby, not long term monitoring.)…………………………………………………….. Any engineer reading this, go ahead and build a SHORTER version, making the red sensor light a bit closer to edge to use on SHORTER infant fingers for fast read outs on infants, and there ya go, a millionaire.

Purchased as a learning toy
I got this for my three-year-old for her doctor’s play kit. When we go to the doctor’s, the pulse ox is always her favorite part, and it has become her favorite part of the at-home kit too. She goes around to everyone to measure their oxygen and pulse. Best of all, we can talk to her about what she’s measuring and all the cool stuff her body does under the surface.

Works but poor quality
This pulse Ox works and displays everything pictured. It is very light, and feels cheap. The back is easy to take off to put the batteries in but once the batteries are in , the back will not line up to go back on. For the price I thought it would be a nicer quality. Arrived on time , comes with the lanyard and batteries
