High quality, delicious protein powder
I have been using this protein powder in my morning smoothie for about a year now, after first hearing Chris Kresser mention the product in his podcast. I just wasn’t hungry in the mornings and I knew I needed a way to start my day with some good calories (i.e. protein and fat, minimal carbs). Add to that an intolerance to dairy protein (the problem for me is really casein, but I also wanted to avoid whey if possible), and this powder was exactly what I needed. It took some fiddling with the smoothie recipe, but now it consistently blends well with the other ingredients. If you try to mix it with just water, it’s quite possible that you get the “soup” with chunks of protein floating around. It tastes okay that way but doesn’t really look appetizing. The trick is to add some fat to the mix – MCT oil is what I use, along with a couple raw eggs. Then maybe a super greens kind of supplement (chocolate flavored works best with this vanilla protein powder) and occasionally some unmodified potato starch (resistant starch!). Then I blend in the Magic Bullet. It’s actually super tasty, and now I look forward to ‘breakfast’ every morning.Yes, the price is pretty steep, but this is high quality stuff. And one canister will last several weeks of daily use. I use a dose and a half (i.e. 3 tablespoons) each morning, and I get about 3 weeks of smoothies out of it. If you only use the standard dose, there are 30 servings per canister. 27g (1 serving) of high quality protein for breakfast every morning for a month for ~$80 = $2.66 per breakfast. That’s downright affordable.

Easy digesting
I love this protein powder. It’s easily digested and tastes great. I don’t do so well with whey protein all the time so I’ll like to switch over to this often. I like both flavors but tend to get vanilla the most because it is easy to add fruit or other flavors to it.

my favorite protein powder
Not being able to take protein powders with gums in them is a pain. This is my favorite protein powder. It really needs a good mixer, either one of those enclosed hand mixers, or a powered mixer. The vanilla tastes great when combined in something like a Nutribullet, with some blueberries.

Best way to use Unflavored
For those that bought the unflavored version, let me save you some grief. The beef flavor and smell is really hard to hide in my opinion. Get yourself one of those battery powered hand mixers on Amazon for like seven bucks and some organic beef broth. Poor 2 cups of broth in a bowl and add a scoop of the powder. Use the hand mixer for about 30 seconds and pop in the microwave for one minute. Add a bunch of seasoning like garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, etc. and mix until combined put it back in the microwave for 1-2 mins. This was the best way for me to quickly intake this powder without having to make complex smoothies and using a blender. If you want to make a meal out of it, add Shin black ramen and a couple of hard boiled eggs! If youâre staying away from processed food, just add some plain rice stock noodles and fresh veggies instead.

Great product for people with sensitivity to whey
A healthcare provider turned me on to this product. It turns out that I have sensitivity to whey and this is easier on the intestines and a better source of protein. I go to work early and have a physically demanding job. My stomach has never been overly fond of solid foods in the early morning hours so I drink a protein shake. This one I prepare in the evening with room temperature water (bc the powder dissolves better) and refrigerate.I feel full until first break and I have plenty of energy to work.I like it.

Pros & Cons
I just tried this for the first time this morning. I have Hoshimoto’s and PCOS and did some research to find this is the same thing as the PCOS Diva protein powder…same price, but this had prime shipping so I bought this one instead. I first tried using a blender bottle to mix it and that definitely doesn’t work with this stuff…it just clumps up. I also mixed it with cashew milk, so maybe that was the problem, but you’re basically going to need a real blender. The taste is good though (some people say it’s too sweet, but I love sugar so it works for me!). There is an aftertaste though, which might be helped with adding fresh ingredients to it. It also tends to foam up pretty badly when you put in a blender, but that doesn’t really bother me. It’s definitely not cheap, but I’m hoping it will be the answer to some weight loss and overall health!

Excellent product.
Designs for Health is a very reputable company of quality products. This Vanilla flavor Bone Broth Protein Powder is another example. A “clean” product without any GMO grains, dairy or junk additives. Delicious with frozen strawberries! Highly recommend.

This is by far my favorite paleo protein. It’s tasty cold or warm and does not leave a strange protein taste like other paleo proteins do.
