    Scratching the Horrible Histories itch!
Although this book is intended for a younger audience, I decided to give it a read due to my love of the Horrible Histories series. I have been totally captivated by ‘The World War 2 for Young Readers’ and it is doing a fantastic job of scratching that Horrible Histories itch – an itch that hasn’t been scratched since my school days.I am currently 5 stories deep into the total of 16 contained within the pages of this book and, so far, it has been a global expedition. I have been totally immersed in the harrowing experiences of soldiers and civilians, learning much about the trials and tribulations of World War 2.This book does a fantastic job of connecting the dots between the past and the future, showing the ways in which the world today has been affected by the events of the Second World War. From inventions to social movements, ‘The World War 2 for Young Readers’ narrates the legacy of World War 2 in a fashion that is accessible for a younger audience without being patronizing.I truly do recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the Second World War, or war in general. Personally, I’m excited to read the remaining 11 stories – so far, so good.

I am in love with this book. From the first page to the last, I could not put it down. I love the layout, the concise (but fact-filled) chapters, the ‘Did You Know’ sections, the maps and the drawings throughout. This book managed to contain so much information without becoming monotonous or dull. It covers aspects of the war from all sides and every corner of the globe.Well worth adding to any library – school, home or local town.
