    Step by step training.
This is an excellent book. I bought it for my grandson who is going to be a freshman in high school. He is on the wrestling team and swim team. This book has descriptive pictures of the muscles of the body. I especially like the fitness essentials part of the book. It explains resistance training, hypertrophy, types of movement, range of motion, types of exercies, types of muscle contraction, breathing, components of movement, fitness principles and concept, and other important fitness concepts. The illustration of pictures are very descriptive showing the muscle anatomy and the correct way to do the exercises. This book is also perfect because my grandson has all the equipment already. It is basic equipment that most people already have and if not, the equipment has minimum cost. The equipment used is: Bodyweight, barbell, dumbell, kettlebell, physioball, sandbag and medicine ball. There are also exercise programs ready to follow. If he follows these steps, he will be in great shape for the season.

“) This book is excellent! Oh gosh we even like it
I was thinking of getting this book for my son for his birthday but I wanted to check it out first. He’s taken an interest in wrestling and fitness more and more recently and his father and I wanted him to have an intellectual context for why being fit is actually important to our bodies (not as a more social and some would say “vain” thing…his father, his father would say “vain.”) This book is excellent! Oh gosh we even like it! The illustrations supplement what you learn by reading SO WELL. It is really easy to follow in terms of its language and just in the steps and photos in instructing the reader. I felt like I learned a lot. And even more than that it does so in an accessible way. We don’t have major fitness equipment in our house and the gym we belong to is fairly basic. That was putting my son at a bit of a loss for a while, or so it seemed, but I am so optimistic about this book. Engaging, interesting, instructional and empowering! I can’t wait til his birthday. I think this gift’ll be a hit!

    Easy to Follow Exercises
With limited equipment this book gives you all the exercise you need to accomplish your goals for a fit body. Be it weight loss, general fitness or mass body building this book goes through multiple exercises to obtain your goals. I am interested in building muscles in my arms so the illustrations of the different muscles that each exercise targets are excellent for me so I know exactly which exercise to do. The photo of each exercise helps you do each one correctly. The exercise programs are a great start to get you on your way to reaching your goals. I highly recommend this book with the easy to follow instructions, photos and illustrations.

It was great, worked perfectly on both counts
I bought this book to get some tips and spice up my workout routine. It was great, worked perfectly on both counts. Clear, easy to follow instructions with photos, and a wide diversity of moves. The vast majority of the book, over ninety percent, was focused on teaching the exercises which I liked. It was very focused on what it promised instead of being scattered and generalized. But it did icluded helpful charts and tips at the back with workout programs and some nutritional ideas. It also included stretches which I liked since I don’t always see that emphasized in weightlifting despite it’s importance. Overall I really liked it, would recommend.

    Well written. Poor binding.
Binding was broken when it arrived. Pages are glossy and durable. Well written, great photos, and muscle diagrams. Better for the beginner to learn proper weightlifting techniques for big muscle groups.

I’m so happy with this book. It’s been what I’ve been looking for and more. I’m a busy mom of two, student and full time employee. I’ve been looking for a structured way to lift at home. I’m excited to start my journey.
