Overall I highly recommend this flat iron not only because of how cheap it is but the performance is amazing. It left my hair straight and even smooth to the touch. Iâm looking forward to using it to curl my hair as well. But if you want a cheap flat iron that works perfect this one is it. not disappointed at all!!

Works great! Just be careful
I was so upset when my expensive hair straightener finally died and didnât feel like spending a fortune to replace it. so I figured Iâd give this one a try after seeing a bunch of good reviews.Im definitely happy I did cause it works great! I have very thick hair that is coarse ,kinky and frizzy. this hair straightener makes my hair nice and smooth and does so quickly .I will say it gets very hot I think itâs even hotter than my last hair straightener. so you definitely need to use a ton of heat protection also try it on the lower settings before putting it all the way up . I use spray leave in protection as well as a leave in cream that has heat protection and frizz control I have not noticed any heat damage on my hair .My only major con with this product is the button placement. once in a while I have clicked the up or down heat setting on it by accident because it is placed in an area where your palm can hit it especially if youâre trying to curl your hair with the hair straightener other than that and itâs really the only reason why I didnât give it the full stars .Iâve really enjoyed it so far.

Performs better than far more expensive flat irons
I own this as well as the Bio Ionic 10x flat iron, which retails for over $200. Comparing the two, they have their pluses and minuses, but considering the price, I’d say this one is the better buy. It actually curls and flat irons more effectively than the Bio Ionic when set to the same temp. Not sure if it’s the titanium coating on the plates, but it seems to do a better job of transferring heat. That said, because it’s so efficient, I do feel like it damages my hair more than the Bio Ionic. This one also has slightly longer plates that the Bio Ionic by about 0.5″ (both have extra long plates when compared to a standard flat iron) and the casing gets less hot when in use. I also like that it has about a one inch section at the end that the plates do not reach, so that area of the casing stays cool and gives me an easy place to place my fingers as I guide the flat iron down the hair. Cons: The cord is too short, but I purchased a 3ft extension cord and solved that problem. Not dual voltage, but that’s only an issue if you travel out of the country frequently. Finally, unlike the Bio Ionic, which is smooth as butter, the Conair does snag a bit. I think this is due to the edges of the plate being somewhat unfinished, which leaves them rough. It doesn’t snag to the point where it’s pulling out hairs, but it does make the experience less pleasant.

This might very well be the best flat iron I have ever owned in my life. I have been straightening my hair since I was in middle school. We won’t talk about how long ago that was, but it’s been quite a while. Throughout the years, I have ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS had expensive, high quality, and name brand flat irons: Paul Mitchell, Babyliss, ETC. The last Babyliss I bought was a $170 flat iron. It was AWFUL. I am someone who takes very good care of my hair and uses top of the line products. When I say I am high maintenance about my hair, I could not be more serious. I have super thick and course hair. My new Babyliss that everyone was crazy about, pulled my hair and just wouldn’t flatten it like it should have, especially for the price. I began my search for a new one and found this one. I thought, “for $35 why not?” It is the BEST money I have EVER spent on a hair tool, period. It’s light weight, easy to pull through, hot, SO CUTE, and truly a one sweep wonder. As someone who is VERY picky about what she uses on her hair, I hope this helps you decide to just buy it!

Watch your heat
I saw many reviews from other black women(I’m also black) who said it damaged their hair, so I was very anxious to buy. I washed my hair with shear moisturizer. When rensing out the conditioner I left some in the hair. I applied chi hair protector serum and the dark and lovely blow out heat protector before blow drying. I started on medium warm heat, when I got it as straight as possible, I finished with a hight heat and would put the hair strand on cool right after. I applied olaplex #3, both chi, and dark and lovely protector on the hair again after the blow dry. When I went to straighten I only used heat setting of 320. After, I applied some more olaplex and wrapped my hair in a circle then into a bonnet(repeated bonned wrap every night). I never straightened two days in a row. And in a week I passed the straightener only 3x or less in big chuncks on 320. Four times I used the setting on 350 and no problems. My hair was kept damage free and bone straight in mid-west humidity for TWO MONTHS. No issues. I highly recommend. Btw I am a all natural curly hair women. Never dyed or anything to my hair and its 4a for refrence.

If you have never owned a titanium flat iron, I highly recommend. The plates are a really fun, a rainbow metallic which make it look really slick. At first I was confused about the temperature settings as my old one was always in Fahrenheit. But it actually defaults to the average temp setting 200°C and then you can go up or down based on your hair type (colour coded to help). I was able to straighten my hair in no time at all with 1-2 passes in each section. It also has a great safety feature with auto shut off after 60 mins if you forget to turn it off/unplug. Iâve only used once since getting it yesterday and I was impressed. My hair felt soft and healthy after using it.
