These strips are a quick and easy way to check your Ketones when you start the Ketogenic diet, or any low carb diet. They’re super easy to use, and results are pretty easy to understand. If you’ve ever checked the pH levels in a pool, this is the exact same sort of deal. Darker the strip the more ketones (better).I won’t go into too much Keto detail, there’s plenty elsewhere. Just be aware that you may not show ketones in your urine for a few days up to a week after starting Keto and that your levels may vary on activity. I.E. if you test when your body is flushing water (after drinking alcohol) it may read lower, or if you just fasted or used exogeneous ketone supplements may read higher. After your body is fully in ketosis (couple weeks or more) your urine may have less ketones than your blood (actual levels) because your body is using them.This particular product is also a great buy in terms of price. Blood monitors will run you about $60 for a test kit with equipment for 10 tests, and more strips will run you $1 a test AT A MINIMUM. Another alternative is a special breathalyzer which is also going to cost you and not provide much more accurate readings.Simply put, this is the BEST product on the market for the money, hands down.

Why canât people read directions?
Based off of all negative reviews, Iâve come to the conclusion that it is user error. As long as you READ the directions and perhaps utilize YouTube for a visual, you will understand how this product works. I did have an issue trying to figure out how to open the lancet device. All you have to do is put it all the way to zero and twist it off. It reads just fine and just be patient when you slide in the ketone strip. It will read and check to make sure the blood strip is not defective. Donât just put your blood in it right away and slide it in. Again, a lot of the reviews is just user error.Two things I donât like about this product:1. Pricking my finger2. How over priced it isOther than that, itâs whatever. Weâll see how this keto diet goes and I will be back to update my disappointment.

I received the product yesterday.First let me say I was really looking forward to using this device. I even already ordered 30 more Ketone Blood Test Strips so I would not run out.Set up was real easy, I recommend watching the video on the Kiss my Keto sight, it was very helpful. I had watched the video before ordering so I was already to do it.Packaging was a little odd. The box was not sealed with the unit and strips in it, so I was real surprised the test strip tube was not sealed. I thought maybe it was a returned unit.The first test strip i put in said it was used, I got nervous and put a new one in. I got a reading of 0.6 which I knew was low since my labs just said +1. I waited two hours and tested again and got another error code of used strip, put a new one in and got a reading of 0.4. I was really concerned now and checking everything I was eating. But I have been losing 4 pounds per week for the past two months so how can this be?Got up this morning, scale said I was down another 1/2 pound from yesterday. Went to test my blood and again I got an error code of used test strip, put in another and got a reading of 0.4 and a low battery signal I did not notice lastnight.All told I have gone through 6 test strips in less than 24 hours. Not feeling confident in the accuracy of the unit and the test strips seem to be faulty.Like I said I was really looking forward to using this device, I have been doing Keto off and on for two years now and doing great on it, but I wanted something that I could actually see what my numbers were so I could adjust by adding or subtracting foods from my “can eat” list. I also wanted to show my friends how by knowing your numbers will encourage a person to keep going and take charge of what they eat by knowing how their particular body responds to what types of food.I hate to say don’t purchase this item, what if it was just a fluke that mine is a lemon, or was it exposed to moisture in transit to my home. Or maybe it was a returne or refurbished unit.I will reach out to the company on Monday and see what they suggest I do. I will update my review at that time.

These have been great. I’ve ordered at least twice and would order again right now but they are not in stock. The price point is perfect and they allow me to actually verify whether I’m in ketosis or not. I’m 4 years into keto and ketone urine strips cant be relied on anymore. I’ve seen some reviews on accuracy and I cant speak to that aspect as I’m not chasing a specific number more so want to know if when I get kicked out when I have a more cheat-y snack or meal. Been very helpful to determine that after doing it for this long I can actually handle alot more than 20g carbs in a day before being kicked out.

I was skeptical at first I was only trying to get into Ketosis for a few days before I received them. So when they came in it was the negative on the 4th day it was positive into the moderate range.I’ve been using it daily and it bounces back from moderate to medium.I got a negative one night but it was a false negative sometimes you just won’t have any ketones in your urine.I just wish the colors were more like the chart they’re slightly different so it’s a bit hard to read.

These work great! I know some others have had issues, but so far mine are holding out. I keep them in my half bath so there is no humidity from the shower, which I believe helps their longevity. I took a three-day break from keto and I was able to watch as my ketones slowly depleted and once I went back on it after the break, I saw them slowly return, so the strips seem to be accurate. Their price per strip is really good, too. I plan to re-order these eventually.

These strips do change colour if you are in ketosis. But the fun is that so far, it never turns a colour that is actually on the chart. So this is basically both a medical test and a kind of puzzle. The amount of change is dependant on the degree to which you are in ketosis, but its really hard to match it to any of the colours on the tube the strips come in.Ketostix, which are a little more expensive, around 7$ for 50 at drug stores, give an exact match or occasionally between samples and you can tell exactly which two they are between.Not saying don’t buy these. They do indicate ketosis. But the chart is there more for comic relief than accuracy.

understanding that day to day, hydration levels and diet/body weight are all influences I find though being on keto the results from the test to be really all over the place. I’ve been really diligent on keeping my carbs below 15 grams. Some days it test med and some days it’s low over the span of my use. I test twice a day. I’ve lost weight so I know something is working but it’s adding a new level of stress as I’m unsure if it’s the strips or myself as the colour change on them isn’t very unified either on the tips either. I think next time I’ll invest in a different testing method that’s more accurate. If you wanted to just use it as a basic “is ketosis happening” they’ll be fine but if you have different goals to use as a metric…I suggest something more expensive and accurate.
