I purchased a 36â and 18â foam rollers- these are nice firm but these rollers have a little soft give and they are the best I have ever used. They are effective yet are not painfully firm. I would caution to open them carefully as the foam sits close on the ends of the boxes- and if you were to use a knife or razor cutter to slit the box open you certainly could cut into the foam. I had read this on other reviews and was extra careful opening mine. There isnât a âhey you be careful cutting into meâ warning on the box- so for the overly excited box opener type- the foam could get caught in the process.

UPDATE: The vendor replaced my roller with another unit. The new one has stayed intake and durable. Perhaps the first one came gouged and I didn’t notice it. This is a vendor focused on customer satisfaction and quality. They stand buy their product – would not hesitate to recommend and upgrading rating from 3 to 4 stars.I expected this thing to be better quality than the less expensive foam rollers (like the one my wife has had for ten years and still totally intact ) … well within 5 days of owning this and very light use I saw this gouge in the material. I have a dedicated work out room with nothing in it other than the floor mats a chair, a stability ball and this. One of their selling point is durability… so I spent more and not sure it was worth it. Makes me wonder if this thing is gonna look like cr*p in 6 months. Anyway, this should not have happened … not enough of an issue to return it as it’s core function still works. But come on. Maybe it came to me this way and I just didn’t notice. I can’t imagine how it got gouged – it’s literally been five days and light use. Anyway, not pleased with the durability and now this gouge is a weak spot to continue further deterioration. The manufacturer seems to be reputable maybe they’ll offer a replacement.

At first you’ll be flailing and cursing. Relax. Keep your spine straight. If you’re using for the IT band, try a combination of your arms and your other leg to propel you back and forth. I grip the edge of an area rug to pull myself in one direction. Do I look like a crazy person? Oh, yes. Yes, I do.This is an exercise you want to do slowly and deliberately, preferably where you won’t be observed by human beings. The pain in some spots will force you to move on, so do that rather than giving up. Be sure to roll the whole area — that is, don’t cheap out for the last six or so inches in your eagerness to start in the next direction. Breathe.In six weeks or so, rolling has become less painful. I’m not sure whether it’s because the band had adhesions that I was hitting, and now have broken up, or I wasn’t used to the pressure, or the band itself has begun to flex a bit. Whatever the reason, I’m grateful, and encourage users to stick with it.

Be careful unboxing it
The three stars is because I believe the roller is good for certain body types, but have just tried it once so far. I had to knock two stars off because of the packaging. The foam roller was placed right next to the carton, and if you use a box knife to open it, you can and in my case did cut right into the roller. There are no warnings on the box to not use knives to open. Normally packages put something between the product and the walls of the box. Not so in this case. So before I ever used it, I had damaged it. I believe it will still be usable, but it is not what you want to do to your newly purchased product. As for the roller, I found it very hard to use because it was too high off the ground for me. I didn’t have any leverage to push through the rolling movements to create the massage. It just felt like I was leaning on top of a big rock. I am just not the right build for this roller. I ended up returning it.

Disappointed to find it quite awkward, for a smaller person. It just felt too big at 6″ diameter, and it was probably too hard for my particular hip/tendon recovery. While it looks to be of very good quality, I eventually found a 4″ one that was softer and easier to use. Appreciated being able to return this.
