    Highly recommend
McBride has produced a masterfully written and photographed tribute to nature’s most serene places and the virtues they bestow upon us in an otherwise all too noisy world. Seeing Silence is definitely a worthwhile reminder to respect and honor nature’s silent places and the beauty we can find in it. A refreshing, timely book that is beautifully photographed. McBride’s mastery of the camera lens is at its best here and the accompanying narrative resonates and inspires. Highly recommend.

    Smaller book
This book is pretty and has some cool shots. It is a smaller book, and it did come with junk on the front of it. Overall nice smaller photography book, though.

    The haunting beauty of silence
Our modern world is so crowded, busy, and restless that it’s no surprise the vast majority of us would have trouble recalling the last time we experienced silence. Not the silence of modern life (which is never truly quiet) but the silence of nature. The whisper of a stream. The trill of a wren. The “applause of rain”, as Pete McBride so romantically phrases it.
The music of the natural world is a rapidly disappearing source of magic and this book sets out to record as much of it as possible. In Pete’s images, he captures the cracking of glaciers, the crackling of drying mud, the crinkling of new leaves. Pete’s camera allows us to experience the silent grandeur of places many of us can only dream of visiting.
In these pages, you will travel the world and SEE the silence. Allow yourself to feel it. To be inspired by it. And inspired to protect it. 💙🌍

    Beautiful and thought provoking.
I have been following Pete McBride for years and have lived vicariously through his art and adventure. In addition to the beauty of his work, McBride is substantive and challenges us to think about so much we take for granted. Forcing us to pay attention to diminishing resources and fading cultures. McBride is always at the vanguard of important subjects, such as water and now silence. I have never thought of silence this way, or craved it so much. This is a beautiful, engaging book!
