There’s a lot to like about these poles
I looked through dozens of product listing of trekking poles. My goal was not mountain climbing. My exercise routine is mostly walking and I wanted to transition to getting some upper body exercise into the mix. I read that using trekking poles actually did that to a greater extent than I thought. So that’s the rationale: I don’t need these to support my full weight climbing down a mountain trail, I wanted 1) reasonably light, 2) strong enough to not be fragile, 3) easy to change length and hold fast at that new length, 4) comfortable to hold in the handle and with a comfortable wrist strap that can quickly be changed to go from being around gloves in cold weather and a bare wrist in good weather. It’s all there.
Many reviews of various poles criticize the “holding power” of the mechanism that holds the length at your setting. These have a latch and a thumb-turnable bolt that sets the tightness of the latch when closed. It’s similar to other latching systems in products I use but seems to confuse some users. No wrench is required. When the latch is opened the screw is easily turned a bit and you test if the latch will hold tight enough or if you need to back it off and twist the screw a bit more. Setting the right tension to hold the telescoped pole at the set length takes seconds. Far less time than talking about how to do it. Easy and tight when set right. It seems unlikely to get otherwise unless severely overtightened.
I decided that so far I like the cork grip. I tried using the funny boot-shaped tip while walking on concrete sidewalks, asphalt and gravel in my walking loop. I decided that I wanted to try the simple, round tip cover and it was more satisfactory. I was glad that I had ordered a pack of 8 tip-protectors at the same time. They work great. Overall these have been very satisfying purchases.
Edit: I forgot to say that with all the good features, which I’ve now enjoyed for many 3+ mile walks around my town, these poles are also an incredible bargain. Sturdy aluminum, solid locks on the telescoped poles, tips that stay on while I improve my style of use and way less expensive than I expected to pay.

Sturdy and useful; good price!
I bought these poles a few months ago and use them almost daily. I’ve had health issues that have left me with some joint and muscle issues and wanted to get back into our fairly easy hikes. But I use them for my daily walks too. They’ve been great. They’re lightweight and sturdy, and they take the strain off of my knees. And they definitely increase my workout because I’m using my arms more. I find I’m walking faster and more easily in my daily walks than I was without them.
I really like the lever style locks. I find them very easy to adjust even though I can’t grip things as easily as I used to. They haven’t come loose when I’m using them. The instructions on how to use them to lengthen the sticks and how to test the sticks after toale sure the locks were secure were quite clear.
The cork handles are great. They don’t get slippery even in high humidity. I appreciate the foam extensions because I can slide my hands down onto them as I go uphill and still keep my arms closer to level.
The price was excellent. I didn’t want to spend too much money on these because I’m not off backpacking for weeks. I just needed something good, lightweight, easy to use and sturdy. These Foxelli poles filled the bill.

Exceptional Walking Poles
My wife is thrilled with her purchase of these trekking poles. She is a novice in their use but, with knees that have declined with age, she wanted to try them for non heroic climbs up our neighborhood hills and on to local hiking trails. The construction of the poles is first class. They come very efficiently packaged; someone put some serious thought into that. They come with a selection of different tips and good instructions on their use. Assembly is very straightforward, are easy to adjust for the height of the user, and were ready for use in under 10 minutes. The grips are comfortable and the poles have a sturdy feel to them, despite being light in weight. They came with a storage bag with a pocket for the different tips, as well as a pouch to wear around your waist for money, ID etc. All in all these trekking poles are a five star product and well worth the purchase price.

These hiking poles are nothing short of remarkable. I love hiking the wilderness trails and these poles have me back in the game. I’m even able to go off trail if I should spot a special bird, edible mushrooms, trillium flowers, wild berries… They include all the extra feet you’ll need for the different terrains at no extra cost. They are very sturdy, have comfortable wrist straps, and the length adjust easily, which is perfect for someone with RA. Honestly I can’t brag them up enough. I’m back in the sunshiny wilderness thanks to these two assistants. =)

Got me to top of Machu Picchu even with a couple of dodgy arthritic knees!! If I only use them for that theyâre worth it but I know Iâll be using on hikes in the future. Strongly suggest you watch some videos on using poles as I found out some simple tips can make a huge difference in using them. Great piece of kit.

I was advised to use walking poles by my physio and these were my eventual choice from a wide selection on Amazon. They are telescopic which I wasn’t sure would give me the reliable support that I needed but the clips are adjustable so you can tighten them to get a perfectly firm hold and so far I’ve not had any problems with slippage. They are also beautifully light to carry and seem to be ergonomically well designed as my arms and wrists feel no effects from our walks. Finally they are a lovely shade of muted green which I find particularly attractive and appropriate to our countryside walks.
