Fun, Lighthearted Poerty for Kids
Jeff Foxworthy doesn’t disappoint with his humorous poetry. Both great for children ages 4-8 and adults too, each verse takes a different twist on things we come in contact with everyday, from dirt on your shirt to -are we there yet?, hide-and-seek, friends, uninvited guests, wishing and fishing, noises, and snakes. As always, Jeff has to bring his family into the picture making fun of relatives from Grandma, Grandaddy, Uncles, Aunties, and Cousins which will sure to make kids grin. A wonderful way to introduce young children to poetry. They are sure to want to read it over, and over, and over again! (In addition, the pictures are outstanding and fun, too!)

5 year old LOVES
My 5 year old boy absolutely loves this book of silly poems. We home school so I Iike to get creative with my son. Each week he picks out a poem and together we choose 6 words to use as spelling words. 3 easier words that he can sound out and 3 more difficult words. Everyday he writes those words and reads the poem. By Friday he has it memorized and has learned 6 words, while having fun! The poems are funny and provide good laughs for this family of 4 young boys!

Share Jeff Foxworthy humor with another generation
I love poetry and enjoy sharing it with children. Jeff Foxworthy has come up with a fun way to expose children to rhyming descriptions of things and people familiar to them. Wonderful to read aloud or for older children to read by themselves. Nicely illustrated and includes a look and find page

Dirt on my Shirt
For a children’s book to be successful, Grandma has to like it. She will be reading it over and over and over again!
I saw Foxworthy on a talk show and he was really excited about the illustrations for “Hide”. I figured if the writing was terrible, at least we could have fun with the hidden object premise. It was adorable. So I bought “Silly Street” and “Dirt on My Shirt”.
“Dirt on My Shirt” is funny and sweet. My grandsons enjoy the poems because they tell real life stories simply and honestly. Jeff writes about self, family and friends in a positive light and you can’t help but smile as the book is read. Everyone who reads this will find at least one relative or friend that they will instantly recognize!
I read the poem FRIENDS from “Dirt on My Shirt” as a toast at my daughter’s wedding…It was received with hugs, laughs and tears of happiness!
Grandma recommends “Dirt on My Shirt”!

Dirt on My Shirt
This book was delightful and surprised us. We found the poetry wonderful and our 3 year old grandson liked it very much. The pictures were very fun and well matched to the poems.
We all really liked the poem about escaping balloons. We saw some balloons floating away later and showed them to our grandson. We commented about them going up to the angel children.
Fun and creative poems.

It’s a collection of poems for kids. Not classic Foxworthy stuff
I was hoping that this book would bring more chuckles than it does. Coming from Jeff Foxworthy one would have that expectation. It’s not a book of humorous things that kids do, well, not in the laugh out loud sense, but is a collection of cute poems for kids.
I still enjoyed the book, but expected more laughs.
