Fantastic book!!!
I’m a biologist. I wanted to find an exceptional book to teach my kids about the human body, and this book is IT. The book gives a very visual understanding of what’s inside us, in a lot of detail but not in so much detail that the big picture is missed either. I got tired of thin kids’ books about the human body that offered little information beyond the fact that we have a body and it does a bunch of things we all know that it does. At least some kids want and can handle more. My 3-year-old son LOVES this book! While I got this book for my kids, it’s perfect for adults as well. Adults could spend a very long time mastering everything in this book. It’s an absolutely fabulous in-depth introduction to the human body. And it’s truly beautifully put together, with tons of beautiful color illustrations. For anyone who wants to know about human anatomy and to a lesser extent some basic physiology & disease biology, this is your book. BUY IT TODAY!!! (And no, I’m not selling it. 🙂 DO NOT HESITATE!!! I’ve never seen a better book about the human body.

My child LOVES this book!!!!! Beautiful clear pics, very informative, and thorough!!!! What I did NOT like about this book is EVERY SINGLE picture is a “male” body so I had to go through and permanent mark out ALL the “male parts”… Ugh!!! Don’t know why they just didn’t leave it blank (especially for a DK book, regardless if its for an adult or not).. there was no reason for it except in the reproductive portion of the book for obvious reasons. My future Doctor has manyyy books on the human body & this is by far their favorite!!! I HIGHLY recommend!!! Go check it out at Borders ($50) then come back here to Amazon & buy it.. its cheaper!!! hehe 😉 (or vice versa) 😉

The Complete Human Body + DVD
The 5 year old grandson and I love the book. We read and look at it every day and are on our 2nd time through. He even remembers the page number we stopped at the day before. The DVD didn’t much interest him as it didn’t “move” (stills rather than a video). An excellent book–vivid drawings/images in a large format and informative.

Great for nursing or home reference
I got this book because I’m a pre-nursing student about to take A&P next semester. I’ve taken it before and know allot of visual aid is needed. This book is full of up close pics and it exceeded my expectations because some of the written info explains types of disorders and processes related to the relevant anatomy. The best thing is that it is not complex where a person with no medical background could not comprehend it. It makes it quite plain and to the point. Whether you are in nursing class or a parent or just a mammal, I recommend this as a household book for reference for years and situations to come. I haven’t had a chance to view the dvd yet, but it could only get better!

“The Complete Human Body” is clearly and beautifully illustrated. The text is readily undersood with just the right level of detail. For the occasional word a reader may not be familiar with, between the glossary, index, table of contents and illustrations it is easy to find out the meaning of the unfamiliar word. This is a great book for understanding the anatomy, function and diseases of the human body. When one considers the quality and effort that went into the production of this book, it is amazingly inexpensive.

A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words
While studying medical coding, one encounters endless terminology that may cause confusion. “The Complete Human Body” is an excellent resource that contains brilliant illustrations in a large format. The book is divided into the various sections of the body, and then by system (musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, nervous, etc.). If you need to figure out, for example, which bones of the hand are the distal phalanxes, you open the book to “Lower Arm and Hand – Skeletal”, and there is a full page illustration. For me, there is no substitute for a picture, and this book is superb.

I had bought this Book primarily to understand How Human Body works, organs and the internal functioning to the Gene level. However after opening, my 6 year old Son was so mesmerized by looking at the Pictures and diagrams that i had to slow read to him and explain the basics.Its like a foundation on which our Body is build and makes sense to a person who has not even studied Biology as a subject.The Diagrams, pictures adds to the excellent explanation and they make much more sense than the text.I would highly recommend this to people of all Ages who are curious to learn about Human Body. Excellent also for Kids to make them understand Human organs and thereby the concept of Healthy diet.
