Cuts well
This saw makes for a nice and compact pull cut style saw. The real Achilles heel for these types of saws is use during very cold weather. I have not tried it during cold weather, but it works great when the weather isn’t freezing. It folds up nicely and locks up well when extended for cutting.

Somehow I’d gotten though a lot of life without a folding saw. Don’t make the same mistake. These are so handy, lightweight, and functional that everyone needs at least one. On camping trips, they eliminate the need for an axe, and speed cutting wood by probably 20X. You can use them for all kinds of bushcraft in addition to just cutting firewood. I also use mine for cutting woody weeds and unwanted shrubs, and it is still the best tool I have for that after having experimeneted with all kinds of garden clearing devices, including electrified ones. This particular saw is a good size, but a little flimsy, and the blade wobbles a bit. It hasn’t failed to function yet, but it doesn’t give me the “rock solid” feeling of my other folding saws. Some of that no doubt is due to the length of the blade – which is longer than usual but what I prefer as I don’t find the length to be a problem, and sometimes it is a big help. Overall these aren’t costly, work very well, and solve a bunch of cutting problems in a light weight portable package that should work for just about everyone except those involved in the most intensive wood cutting, in which case, a full size fixed blade would be the better choice. For the rest of your uses this should work well and this particular example of a folding saw is at adequate, sharp, and a good size if a bit wobbly.

Itâs a decent length to cut small trees branches and small logs. It doesnât cut on the pushing stroke (maybe a little) so I was mindful to only pull to cut. I did mess up a few times and thought I bent it up but it seems ok, not bent. It folds into two positions, one is straight out. The hats the useful position, then it locks with the saw up at about 25° past straight out. I canât for the life of me figure why you would lock it like that but it was ok using the ânormalâ one. All in all this was pretty cheap and Iâll get my moneys worth out of it, prob buy another if I break it. The handle is t bad. I donât have giant baseball mitt hands and it was comfortable. The only thing about the handle is the saw teeth protrude into the hole for a lanyard/string. I think it would cut it when folded. Still, it doesnât suck, itâs in my hiking pack right now.
