I enjoyed this – wiggle wiggle
This is a great start to a new series by Ms. Sax. I would like to humbly suggest that she might have someone write like a summary or introduction to her Worlds. The reason for this being that I believe she is so intwined with her works that the recognition that readers New to her books might be a BIT lost is, well, lost on her. Haha. But really, I am just continually intrigued, delighted, appreciative of her characters and their worlds (like the Carinae E reference would be lost on new readers) yet a reader first checking out Ms. Sax doesn’t know the cyborg history, what the Humanoid Alliance is, about the other aliens, the different cyborg models, home planet, New world, the amazement of them having children, explaining more about the nanocybotics and how they might work, and even how it came to be that cyborgs have come in part to be free. These are details I LOVE and need to make the story glow. It’s how I know Chuckles is so damn overwhelmed by Bettina and why his fellow Cyborgs just let him leave to follow the possibility of his female. Ah love.Anyway, this was just fantastical, romantic (the adoring scene is a tear jerker), and yes plenty of lusty times = thank you very much. I will stop myself here. Two thumbs up.

    Interesting
This was a very interesting and somewhat kinky romance. I was surprised because I wasn’t expecting the dominance displayed by the cyborg. The characters were just strange which made the storyline strange as well. I liked the interaction between Chuckles and Bettina, but could have passed on some of their punishment scenes. It was just a little bit more than was needed to hold the story together. I would like to read more about Keeper and Smarts actually.

    Chuckles you say?
We are back to the kink that this series started on. And if you don’t remember it’s not my fave. But I did like the story otherwise.Interesting job opportunities in this universe. I don’t know if the humans are meant to mirror something/someones in the here and now, or that is just how far, both good and the very bad, the human race had gotten by that time in the author’s version of the future. But I now understand why some people fight for the bright shining star in our possible future called The Federation from Star Trek. Now that I have brought up Star Trek, I realize that the Humanoid Alliance is like the mirror verse.Ok, back to this book. So, I was interested at the start of the book to see how this would workout, once we understood the trap and knew things would not go according to plans. When I understood their kink, I made a note to skim those parts just incase anything interesting came out of them.I was so happy that she talked to him and it seemed they could come to a good compromise, over something she thought would break them apart, until the other ship showed up.Not even a full plant rotation later and I almost cried for Blue Eyes.Eleven planet rotations later we, as in the crew of the Reckless, have a mission that will bring them into contact with more beings and find a few mates along the way I’m sure. I’m looking forward to it.Up next, Doc’s Orders. 😁

    So happy about this book
I really really enjoy the world Cynthia Sax has created and this spin off or additional content is great. Thank you for continuing to tell their stories! This book is a little more domi/sub then most of the others but I think a fantastic job was done showing how that can and is a close trusting and caring relationship even if that isn’t your thing. Anyway, it’s a great book, steamy scenes, bit of adventure and chuckles finally finally grins.

    A new cyborg series!
3 stars – I liked itChuckles hates all humans. When he answers a distress call sent by a pink and blue haired sparkly female he realizes it’s a trap but he also knows she is his. Battina, aka Bait, works with a team of females, capturing predators, seizing their ships and transporting them to primitive planets. She doesn’t expect a cyborg but she can’t resist him. This was a good cyborg romance. Chuckles was a very grim cyborg but Bettina really brings out his emotions. She makes him more than an angry machine. I was surprised by how much I liked Bettina. She was a beautiful human who uses that beauty as bait to catch sexual predators. Bettina was just a courageous woman who used her deadly job to support her father. The sex in this one was steamy! Bettina is extremely submissive and just wants to be protected, which was perfect for an overprotective cyborg like Chuckles. She does like to get in trouble though so she can get disciplined, which was a lot. Basically the sex scenes in this book were great and worked wonderfully for these two character.Sax’s writing has definitely improved since her first cyborg book. There is a lot more character and story development now than there was in the beginning, which makes these newer books a lot more fun, especially since they still have a lot of sex. Overall, this was a great start for a new series and I can’t wait for the other crew members to find their mates.

Cynthia takes us yet again into the violent, gritty reality of her dystopian series. Chuckles is–regardless his name–NOT a smily fellow, but his dedication and determination will make you cheer for him and our heroine.

I love Cynthia Sax..Really enjoyed all the cyborg novels in the series…The lead female character was a tad irritating when she wanted to release the killers currently locked up.. even though they had shown what horrible creatures that they were..The one thing I would like to see in Cynthia Sax’s cyborg novels is more interaction between other cyborgs and their mates…

This is the first story in the spin off from Cynthia Sax’s cyborg series following the cyborg crew of the Reckless and if you have read her cyborg sizzle series then you will know these characters however it is not necessary to have read these to get right into these characters. Chuckles is the most grim of the Reckless crew and rarely (if ever) smiles and as the odds of finding a cyborg mate is considered like winning the lottery Chuckles never expects to find his mate, particularly as he still holds onto the trauma of being under human control and torture. When the Reckless receives a distress signal from Bettina/Bait it is clear she is lying but it is also clear that she is the one person that Chuckles can mate with so he heads off into the trap to retrieve his mate. This sets off a chain of events of adventure as Chuckles and Bettina learn all about each other and try and figure out how they can be together. As with all of Cynthia Sax stories this is heavy on the sexual content however I also think this author is really experienced in sucking me into the characters and the action that there is a real story that is being developed here, one that adds to the cyborg storyline but also builds this new spin off to the Reckless crew. Now in this story there are heavy themes of submission and spanking which is not my cup of tea but honestly I think that attests to Cynthia Sax’s skill in that I think was built in the story to align with these characters so it didn’t bother me in reading it. Although warning to those that are sensitive to such themes or don’t like heavy sexual content, do not get this book!
