Out of the box:- Packaging appears sufficient. Unit come with 2 AAA batteries (non-alkaline?).- Carrying case is included with velcro closure which is nice. A lanyard is also included which was immediately upcycled into a cat toy.- The display is in the opposite orientation of the person using it (up-side-down) which makes it a little difficult for self-administered testing as you are to remain still for optimum test results.*NOTE: I recommend disposing of the supplied batteries as they do not appear to be alkaline or better. These batteries are known for low expected battery life cycle and leaking over time and especially with infrequent use. Battery acid can significantly harm electronic components and insulation resulting in premature circuit failure.Operation:- Simple and straight forward, put finger in and go.- Unit will self-power down after a few idle seconds.Accuracy:- Appears to function as advertised. I am going to compare with medical grade equipment and update my review accordingly.UPDATE: compared to hospital equipment, values were within about 1% during 8 minute comparison. I did note that the refresh rate in this unit was actually faster than the professional unit…impressed!Long Term Reliability:- Initial impression based on the visible components and attributes used: – Cover appears to be snap-fit or perhaps sonic welded. – Wires used to connect bottom sensor to logic board in top half are wrapped in tubing and are sightly exposed in the rear of the unit. It is unclear if there is any strain relief on these wires. There is a slight risk of wire continuity failure due to flexure of wires during normal operation (open/ close finger clamp).- Both labeling and device serial number are laser etched. This is a pricey process when compared to standard poly labels and is indicative of an advanced manufacturing facility.- Device is made in China by Contec, an FDA registered company (Reg# 3006979678) whom also make EKG machines and other sophisticated medical devices.Overall Risk for LTR= Low for average consumer usage, LOW-MEDIUM for regular/ vigorous use due to possible wire flexure failure.- Demonstrated LTR is pending use.Overall Verdict:- Good for the average Joe/ Jane and can’t beat the price.

I had recently been sick from over-exercising after being held back due to a knee injury. When I returned from my 20 mile ride I noticed that my lungs felt almost asthmatic, so went to doctor, they used Oximeter, similar to this one, and noticed I was around 95-96, when normally a 98-99. Sort of freaking out, and no real way to monitor it, I decided to buy this.Well, this arrived in the typical 36 hours after ordering, I think a drone or Eagle or whomever Amazon has brainwashed to deliver it, dropped it by my door. It was in the classic white “pillow” type packaging”PROS:1. Box was very professional, but no batteries (AAA – 2 required)2. It works and lists two things, as it states, pulse and oxygenation3. Highly accurate device, very medical looking and feeling and pulse continues to go up as down, much like ER sensors4. Clamp was firm, not too loose, not too tight, and got measurements from every finger within +/- 15. Come with not one, but two neck cords for wearing around the house? Not sure why it even comes with one – we are neurotic enough already for just reading this6. Blue and greyish plastic feels very medical, well made for price7. Readings take about 4-7 seconds, then stay pretty accurate, not veering much on either handCONS:1. Batteries were not included and are reversed inside. If you have poor vision you need to be careful to ensure you to no place batteries in same position, as would be expected. Indicated on device, but not easy to see.2. REVERSED VIEW – the finger meter should really be facing you, since this is a home device, however it faces the opposite direction as we see here in the picture. Not sure why it says 116, 16 on the picture as that person would likely be dead! This took a bit getting used to and I did not quite understand why if this is made for the home, why it required two neck chords?3. Red LED’s are okay to see, but look sort of 80’s with the readout, I think Michael Knight and “K.I.T” (Knight Rider reference, yes, I am old) had a better overall display.

This oxygen sensor is a very accurate tool.
I had a video call with my doctor, and he asked me what my oxygen level was, and I was able to tell him, along with my blood pressure. I love the idea that I don’t have to see my doctor in order for him to validate my health.

Bought after checking reviews of this model online (from medical personnel). So far, seems to be accurate and working well. Purchased to potentially check effectiveness of oxygen administration in diving emergencies.
