Convenient and it works!
This is my second butane powered curling iron. The first one lasted over 30 years. I think the flint that lights the butane wore out. This one is a little more compact, but just as good at curling my hair without needing to be electrified. It heats more quickly than electric ones and holds an even heat. Now if they only made a butane powered hair dryer…

barrel too small…
barrel too small for my hair, curl would be too “tight” but overall size of product great, wish it had larger barrel for longer hair; UNABLE TO RETURN?? bummer, stuck with something i cant use…

Amazing portable curling iron!
This is great for work, on the go, or a quick touch up on a night out! Very portable with case, slips easily in your purse or bag. Uses butane instead of batteries. Gets very hot and curls like a regular iron except smaller. I highly recommend this for those who need something portable that actually works. I use it at work for days when I run out of time in the morning! BTW- I do not have any trouble with it lighting⦠just read the instructions!

Heat control
Works pretty good. Use it in my camper. The âgripâ is not very tight when holding the hair and the heat does not get very hot. But works ok on short hair for the purpose I bought it for.

I REALLY wanted this to work—and it DOES!
Many years ago I had a couple Conair butane curling irons. I loved them! Used them regularly.Currently on a road trip and left my usual iron at home. Instead of going to Target and buying another cheap curling iron, I decided to find something cordless, that I could leave in my car to use strictly for traveling.I received this yesterday while at my son’s house. I opened it and, though it is quite a bit smaller than the previous Conairs I had, it had a case and I thought it would be great for traveling! I turned it on and it started right away, and I used it…..once. This morning I have been trying and trying to light it, start it, and it just does not respond. Then I started writing this one star negative review. While it was being processed by Amazon, I figured out that there is an “on” switch and a “start” switch. It started yesterday when I turned it on, which I guess it wasn’t supposed to. When I found the “start” switch, it came on and I am really happy!I’m glad I found the problem was me before it was posted! This will work well for me I’m sure!!!!!
Ordered blue earrings with yellow words stating Michigan…got solid yellow u of m earrings…not in a box.. earrings looked like they got stepped on.. surprised they were ok –
Love it!!

Doesn’t heat up and there is no way to return it or get a replacement!
Right out of the box, with the butane cartridge installed, the igniter clicks and the butane flows but it won’t heat up. Worthless! But that’s not the most frustrating part. Try to initiate a return for replacement and you’re stuck in a loop where you can troubleshoot on your own or contact Conair customer support. Troubleshoot on your own takes you to instructions for troubleshooting plug in and battery powered curlers. No help at all. If you elect to go to Conair’s website, you find that you can’t return it without a Conair order number. You can elect to call the Conair customer support number and wait an hour plus for help or not. I chose to not waste my time. There is never an Amazon fix offered for this product. There is no way to elect to have Amazon replace the unit or refund your money. The only Amazon solution offered on the return page is to “Continue shopping”. I’ve never run into this situation on Amazon before and I’ve already wasted too much of my time on this $20 item!

Old version was better
I used the original version of this curling iron for almost 40 yrs and loved it. It finally broke and bought another one, it works and is great for travel but does not get as hot as the old one and the design seems cheap and thin. After I use it a while I will do another review.

Curling iron works great. Easy to handle and great for travelling.

I thought this would be the perfect solution for a trip in the Himalayas, where I wouldnât have to worry about adapters and converters. It was delivered promptly, it comes in a handy, compact case (great for travelling) I tested it when it arrived and it worked. But thatâs pretty much the end of the good news. it worked the first morning of the trip and then died. I contacted Conair and they said itâs not fixable and the only option is to fill out a warranty form. If youâre thinking this is a good option for a trip – donât count on it!

I tried out the curling iron to see if it would work for me. It will do for travel, but is not as good as a full size curling iron for regular use. It was easy to use, and compact for travel to places without electricity.

Exactly what I needed. I don’t travel anymore, but I couldn’t stand holding curling irons that had to be plugged in, were too long, and too heavy to hold. I kept hitting my head with the curling iron. This travel size is very easy to hold, quick to heat up, and does the job. Great buy!I just ordered 2 two-packs of the Conair butane cartridges, so that I won’t have to worry of running out of gas for a long time.
