Peace of mind
I have four kids between the ages of 3 and 8. Fortunately I have not had to use this, but it gives me peace of mind just having it in the house.Itâs really quite a simple device⦠basically a plunger for your face. It has 3 different size masks that cover the mouth and nose. Theyâre very soft so that they can conform to the face and make a good seal. Thereâs a one-way valve so that as you push the handle in it doesnât force air into the personâs airways and push the obstruction further in. Pull the handle and it creates suction to dislodge whatever theyâre choking on. Performance is great- it makes serious suction if you try it on your hand. Good value compared to the competition.

A Must have
Purchased this as we have a 7, 8, and two twin newborns and felt it’d be good to have on hand.We thankfully have never needed to use it, however, we keep it handy in our kitchen in case of an emergency. It gives me peace of mind.-It is compatible with children and adults which is great!-Compact and comes in a plastic bag that is perfect for easy storage.-You cannot put a price on safety, however, this is priced at a good price.-Shipping was quick-I am ordered two more for my husband and I to each have one in our vehiclesThank you for providing peace of mind!!

RN rating = good. Buy it for your kit.
Think of it like a plunger for a choking victim, but it brings it up rather than forcing it down further (possibly into a lung). As someone who has hiemlich-ed people before, this is nice to have on hand. In my humble opinion, I think it would have been easier on the patient than the hiemlich. Sometimes the hiemlich requires a lot of squeezing and sort of gut punching the patient, while everyone is freaking out. Once you fit it over the nose and mouth, you can’t mess it up in the moment of crisis. It will apply outward suction when placed properly and firmly against the skin. I think the seal (the mask part) is quality, with no leaks on my “seal-trial”. I hope you never have to use it, but it’s a nice tool to have in the kit. Practice before you actually need it. (Just practice the motions with the device when you get it, which mask to fit on, how to place the mask, etc). If you were choking, yourself, alone, this would also be doable.

Beard Problems
I bought this because my husband has been prone to choking lately. We practiced on him, but there was a problem. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before i bought it, but there isn’t a complete seal because he has a beard. Just can’t make it work for him. The suction seemed pretty strong on me, though. Even though it won’t work for who I intended it for, I am still going to keep it just in case somebody else in the household chokes.

Life saving idea.
Every home, and even car should have one of these. I got this particular one for my elderly parents. If the first time pulling the obstruction out, it easily can repeat the job. Like a toilet plunger, it is easy to keep trying if the first attempt fails. For the elderly, that can be the difference between life and death. Even young people can screw up and not do the right thing with the proper seal or whatever. If something gets lodged in the throat, it may require multiple attempts. Im very happy I got one of these for my parents. Something they would probably never get for their own use. You can get one though. I even installed the right size mask to the machine and left it for them to place it near the kitchen. When seconds count, 911 may be impossible to dial, or even hit speed dial. These days they can be too busy to make it to where they are needed. I don’t feel like gambling with that happening.

itâs one of those things I believe everyone should have in their home.
It looks like good quality; itâs not very large or heavy and comes in a case, making it easy to carry in the car or keep at home. It includes masks of different sizes to fit both children and adults. It looks easy to use. I hope I never have to use it
