    A book that will change your life, physically and mentally!
    This book is more than just an “interesting” or “good” read. It provides not only facts about why people struggle with weight, or struggle emotionally, but also provides actionable steps that empower you to make changes, control your outcome, and become a better version of you. About 9 months I ran into two people at a gym, whose son was friends with my son – and that conversation put me on a path that would change my life. They both were visually in better shape, and had type of glow about them that you don’t see in many people. When I asked how they’d done it, they talked about Jay Nixon. They didn’t just say “he helped us lose weight”, they described how he TAUGHT them why certain foods are unhealthy for – or how they can keep you from dropping weight. They talked about a weekly call that teaches and engages them. They talked about the mentor-ship, the companionship, the accountability – and hearing them talk about Jay and his Thrive program got me excited. That night I decided to send Jay a message to see if I could talk to him about joining his program. I’ve been a member of Thrive ever since – have lost over 50 pounds, and am in better shape then I was in my early twenties when I went through Police Academy!     The Best Purchase You’ll Ever Get!
    I can’t begin to explain how much I recommend this book to ANYONE, whether you are trying to loose weight or just trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Under Jay’s guidance and teachings, (both in person and from this book) everything he says makes absolute sense! It’s a shift towards the right direction if you read this book and truly apply it to your life. Personally speaking, I have never felt more confidence and self-acceptance than I do now, and I have been an athlete for most of my life. Jay has helped so many people reach and exceed their goals, and I’m honored to be able to work out with him and learn how to better my life! The results speak for themselves, and the facts in this book do not lie! Jay is an amazing trainer and author, and I love love love this book. Definitely something I will constantly reread to keep me disciplined!

    This book takes a very different approach than most weight loss books. The author Jay Nixon has provided concrete tools to help you understand how you became overweight and how to manage it. I have yo-yo dieted most of my life starting in my 20’s. Can’t tell you how many time I have dropped weight only to resume my same eating patterns and gain it all back. I believe by doing the work at the end of each chapter, I will be able to understand myself better and maintain a healthy weight for the rest of my life. The book is well organized with each chapter presenting different concepts and tools to work with. The testimonials from people he has worked with are genuine and very touching. Jay has made a huge impact on many people lives.

    Everyone needs this book!!
    I highly recommend this book. This is the tool everyone needs. Just like a lot of people out there I have tried all the fad diets known to man. It would work for a while, then I’ll gain the weight back. Not until I joined Jay’s Thrive Tribe did I learn how to change my mindset and understand that I need a lifestyle change, not a diet. I lost weight following Jay’s advice and working out at Thrive Fitness Studio and have kept it off for 2 years now and it’s not coming back! The things he said in the book are the things he talks to us about constantly. I’m glad it’s in a book form now and I can go back and re-read it when I need a reminder. I’m also glad that it is now available to everyone! Our mind is really the most important piece of the puzzle in losing the weight and keeping it off. I know people who have had gastric bypass and liposuction and ended up gaining all the weight back because they never changed their mindset. Everybody needs to read this book! I’ll be forever grateful to Jay for all that he’s taught me and is continuing to teach me. Now I am passing on what I’ve learned to my kids.

    “Are you ready to be the person you’ve never been?”
    I am a veteran of darn near every weight loss program on the planet. I know the mechanics backwards and forwards. I am an RN & also a type 1 diabetic. So, why am I unable to keep the weight off?? That powerful engine we all have, our mind. Mine has never embraced the process……never. Every diet was a means to the end result of a number on the scale. “Your beliefs matter.” says Jay. The Overweight Mind is an opportunity to retrain your brain & develop a positive mindset geared toward action and opportunity. I have been a part of Jay’s Tribe since February of 2017. He is so spot on when he says, “if you are not doing the work, you are struggling by choice.” Jay’s book is an absolutely wonderful tool to help you do the work and get your mind in the right place. I will be reading it multiple times as my brain needs the repetition & retooling of my belief in myself and this process. Thank you Jay from the bottom of my heart!!!

    Didn’t really shed too much light. Follows the typical thinking that is already pervasive out there. Wasn’t what I was looking for. But might work for someone else??

    Good points about focus and positive thinking, replacing bad habits with good, but not totally original
    Not overly impressed. He makes one major point in that you have to focus on exactly why you want to improve yourself physically so that you will be able to stay on track and it will become a lifestyle, not a diet. The rest is about positive thoughts, actions and habits (replacing a bad habit with a good one), etc. which is good, but nothing new.Honestly, I got about half way through and stopped reading it because it got repetitive. If I finish it and change my mind, I will update this review.
