Accurate thermometer
The thermometer I received does have both Celsius and Fahrenheit for easy reading. It comes in a protective case and I found it very easy to hold in my mouth without using my hands and very easy to shake down and read. I know it is accurate because I compared it to a thermometer I know to be accurate and it was within 2 tenths of a degree. I am satisfied with it in every way. I’m not certain as to whether or not it uses mercury and would like to know.

Junk. Doesn’t Work !
Looks well constructed but my issues with it are 1) It doesn’t work. 2) It’s bulky and much bigger than the old school glass thermometer. I tried it under my tongue for several minutes, several times with no measurable reading. This was after shaking it down. The level of mercury stayed in about the same place.
Also tried it under my arm for several minutes with no measurable movement of the mercury in the indicator measuring column. Not worth sending it back. And can’t really toss it in the garbage since it contains mercury. Bad purchase for sure.

SAYS I HAVE NO BODY TEMPERATURE AT ALL
This is a complete waste of money. I held it under my tongue for three minutes, and the thermometer said my temperature was 0 degrees. The only way this is better than the stupid digital thermometers that are obviously affected by room temperature is that you don’t have to waste as much money to find out they don’t work.

I like the old reliable style of thermometer…
The old fashioned glass thermometers are the best mainly because you can leave them in the drawer for a year or more, and when you really need it, you won’t have to run out to the drugstore and find the right button cell batteries to make it work. It just does it’s job. There are some who don’t want to use a glass instrument like this with a child, but generations used them before us. If you have children that can hold still for 60 seconds, you’re golden. They need to be stored or carried with caution in mind so it doesn’t fall. It can break, but mercury was discontinued 12 years ago. Thermometers are filled and calibrated with an alcohol mix these days, so far less worry in regards to them

Trustworthy
I trust this more than any electric. I used for my dad and it was very accurate when compared to hospital thermometers.
