I was hesitant trying this because I’ve tried dry shampoos in the past and they didn’t work well and/or they just made it look like I had powder in my hair or dandruff. It tends to lighten the hair as well. I have dark hair so those powders looked terrible. So I was shocked that this stuff actually worked! And was darker in color for dark hair! I shook some of the powder on my roots and the hair closest to my head where it was oily looking (my bangs) – I have normal/oily hair (note: after you use the excess powder that comes out when you first open the container, take off the plastic piece that covers the shaker – some instructions regarding this would have been helpful – I had to check the listing). Anyhow, I brushed it in like the instructions said and it really did take away the oily appearance!I’m SO thankful for this stuff!!The listing says it has a grapefruit smell? I am not inhaling powder to find out. But I honestly didn’t smell anything when I applied it.I wish it was less expensive but it should last a while. And I try to use all natural products, which this is – they tend to run on the pricier side.

Not the best dry shampoo
I have “normal” hair when it comes to oil, I have medium brown hair, and my hair texture is medium–not thick, not thin. I usually use an aerosol spray dry shampoo made for brunettes. I do not wash my hair every day, I wash every other or every third day, so I like to use dry shampoo inbetween washes to add back volumn and soak up any oils.This dry shampoo is all natural and is not an aerosol. When I opened the tube that it comes in and took off the lid, there was a lot of brown powder in the top of the shaker, so it was quite messy. I shook the powder that was on the top of the shaker into my hair, massaged it onto my scalp and waited a few minutes before brushing it through my hair. I realized I needed a little more and I kept shaking the tube but nothing else would come out. I couldn’t figure out how to use the shaker or how to make more powder come out. That’s when I realized that there was a cover that was covering the holes of the shaker tube, which needed to be removed. The excess powder had coated the covering of the shaker holes and I didn’t even realize it was there! Doh! Once I removed the cover from the holes, the dry shampoo dispensed by shaking the tube over my head.This dry shampoo says it is for dark hair, but the powder is very light brown in color, as it is colored with cocoa powder. If you have very dark hair, it might still show. I could still see it in my medium brown hair but it wasn’t as obvious as other dry shampoos that aren’t specifically made for brunettes. They tend to leave a white cast.This dry shampoo didn’t have any scent that I could detect. It didn’t add any volumn to my hair like other dry shampoos that I’ve tried and it’s oil soaking capabilities only lasted a couple hours– and my hair isn’t super oily. After a few hours it made my hair start clumping up like it does when it is starting to get dirty.Overall, if you are set on using a non-aerosol natural dry shampoo, you might like this one because it has those qualities. However, for me, it just wasn’t the greatest at keeping my “second day” hair looking great. My normal go-to dry shampoo is great at keeping my hair oil free on it’s second day and this one was a little disappointing with it’s longevity.
