It WORKS, but you need to know a few things!
This stuff is an absolute game changer! After losing my hair due to brain surgery and the chemotherapy-type medications I have to take everyday, I couldn’t get my hair to grow, and what little hair grew was thin and unhealthy. Whether it should or shouldn’t have (we can debate the glass half full thing all day), my self-esteem was wrecked by not having the long healthy hair I once had. My hair was my femininity, and I felt that I had lost that entirely. It was a very difficult time for me both physically and emotionally. By attending support groups for women with similar neurological/ autoimmune disorders, I’ve learned those feelings are quite common.About two years ago, my hairstylist suggested that I try Ola Plex. She had seen very positive results in her salon from her other clients using the product line. I figured I didn’t have anything to lose, (literally, I literally had no hair to lose) so why not give it a shot? Without a doubt, that was one of the smartest decisions of my life! My hair is now well past my shoulders, thick, and very healthy. Here are a few things that you need to know before you start using these products.1- I think you should use the entire product line, not just this treatment alone. I don’t know how well this would work, without the Ola Plex shampoo and conditioner. It’s kinda an all or nothing sort of thing, in my opinion. I personally use the entire line, and I think in doing so, I was able to quickly achieve and maintain the results that I wanted.2- You will need to commit time to each treatment. The directions say to leave the treatment on for a minimum of 15 minutes. I would encourage you to keep it in longer. I typically apply the treatment right before bedtime, stick a shower cap on my head, and hit the bed. In the morning, I shampoo, and condition. The longer you leave in the treatment, the better the result. Remember, this is a treatment, not a conditioner. I would say my average treatment time is about eight hours, but I’ve gone as little as one hour.3- The directions do NOT read to use sparingly. This particular treatment is not an example of “a little goes a long way.” You need to have a good amount of product in your hair for it to work. Now, their shampoo and conditioner only require about a dime size amount. Those are great examples of “a little goes a long way.” Basically, I just don’t want anyone to feel the product doesn’t work, when the issue was actually that not enough product was used. At 8.5 inches past my shoulders (as of 10-9-24), I use close to an entire bottle every time I use this treatment, which is (on average) twice per week. When you first start using the treatment, when your hair is at its most unhealthy, you really should consider treating it more than only twice per week.4- I lost a good bit of hair, when I first started using it…which terrified me! I debated stopping it entirely. My hairdresser said the decision was entirely up to me, but she recommended that I push through. She used a lot of big science words to explain why hair loss can be common when beginning this or similar treatments. I told myself that I would commit to 6 weeks of treatment. If my hair was still falling out at that point, I would just stop using it. My period of hair loss was less than a month.I started to see new hair growth and an obvious difference in appearance after about a month. Overall, I went from a man’s military “high and tight” to shoulder length hair in about 18 months. It’s probably important to mention here that I also made sure to take a good vitamin supplement with Collagen, Biotin, and other “hair healthy” vitamins packed in them. There are many reasonably priced brands available on Amazon.To make a long story short (LOL), I have and will continue to recommend this product line to others. Most of my family and friends have all converted to Ola Plex, after seeing what it was doing for me. I hope the information I gave didn’t bore you too badly and actually helps you make a decision. My hair was a bit dry after recently bleaching it. I had tried a few things and they didn’t do much. Then I found Olapex. I read the reviews on multiple products and ended up getting the whole set, and I’m beyond glad I did. Those reviews weren’t wrong! I used everything today and wow! I read that some people mentioned how it took a few uses to notice a difference and some mentioned they noticed a difference after one use. I can confirm that I noticed a significant difference after one use. I am blown away by this product line!!

I use it for a few years now and it makes a big difference to my hair. I don’t really use hot tools on my hair except of the hair dryer but I like to colour my hair. It is in quite good condition as I don’t bleach it and care for my hair very well overall, use really good products and know what works for me. But still I have noticed the results even after the first use and since then I always have a bottle of this stuff. Now I use it about once in 2 weeks(in the beginning I used once a week) but if your hair is very damaged you can use much more often. I apply it on slightly damp hairafter emulsifying it in my hands first and this way it spreads much easier and more even. I wait as long as possible before I wash my hair depending on how much time I get but obviously the longer the better. I tried it along with Olaplex number 0 and it works even better but I feel like I can skip this step in my case. Also I really like Olaplex oil and use it in between to maintain the results. I have other favourite oils and serums so don’t always use Olaplex every time I wash but it makes a difference too. I can recommend this product especially if you colour or hot style your hair and if your hair is a bit more delicate(mine is also silky wavy type). But you don’t do much to your hair and it’s quite resilient overall you might not notice any difference in my opinion.
