Great for walking on snowy or icy surfaces
I bought these traction cleats to be able to navigate after an ice storm that made walking and driving treacherous for several days. They provided great security in conditions in which deeply lugged hiking shoes and boots were useless. They slip on and off easily but do not slip off during walking.
My only caveat would be: Don’t inadvertently wear these indoors on any form of carpeted floor. The wire coils can catch on rug fibers and be pulled loose or broken. If you put them on and remove them at the door, they work great for their intended purpose.

    Nice construction.
I haven’t actually needed to use these Yaktrax yet, but from viewing the way they’re constructed, I think they’ll do a great job. The fit is snug over my sneakers, so I’m sure they’ll stay put when in use. The rubber isn’t flimsy, which is what I was concerned about before purchasing. A good buy for the price.

Confidence on ice and snow in Alaska
These coiled steel tracks are good for almost any issues. They’re not as aggressive as cleats or crampons, so they are less likely to chew up your floor when you walk in the house. They work well on ice, hard pack snow and snow alike. Something for more every day use. I switch to my crampons for more aggressive control on long walks in sheer ice situations.

Great alterative to expensive/sharp cramp-ons, but don’t last long
We recently traveled to Iceland during the winter and these were absolutely invaluable — from hiking to just walking around town, our Yaktrax kept us stable and upright. We both fell down at different times when we weren’t wearing them. As long as we had these on our feet, we were both as stable and comfortable as could be.
The only issue we both faced was longevity. Toward the end of our week-long trip, both our pairs of Yaktrax started to break apart. My wife’s completely disappeared on a return hike from a glacier overlook, and mine broke apart and wrapped around my ankles during a hike to a hotsprings. We were able to find a local store that carried them for quick replacements for the last day of our trip, but it was disappointing they didn’t last and failed so suddenly and catastrophically.
These are a great alternative to heavier spike cramp-ons. They are easier and safer to pack and carry; and easier to put on and take off. However, the trade-off appears to be longevity. If you are going to rely on these for a trip, bring a backup pair!

A must have for winter walking to stay upright
I live in the Northeast US where we have can have snow as early as late October through early April. We get icy conditions as well and it’s important to remain upright when walking in those conditions, even in your driveway.
Yaktrax are the perfect solution to winter weather outings. They go on easy, will fit most style shoes or boots with flat bottoms, and are very durable.
Once you put them on you can walk confidently through the snow and many ice situations.
Because of the coils on the bottom you’ll want to be careful with surface changes when coming indoors. Ceramic tile can be very slippery so make sure you have a rug at the doorway to remove your shoes/boots prior to stepping on the tile.
They don’t slip off while walking (unless you have the incorrect size). They’re easy to remove from your footwear.
I have a pair of shoes with the Yaktrax already attached by my front door for easy on/off when I need to go outside.
These are a great accessory for people with mobility issues that want to be safe walking outside in the winter.

    Reliable traction for slippery walks
Yaktrax have been a staple in my car/bag during with the winter months. I have used them for years. They are easy to slip on over shoes, providing a secure fit that stays put. The traction they offer is great, giving confidence to walk across an icy parking lot without fear of slipping. My only minor complaints are that they can be a bit cumbersome after I reach my car and try to remove sitting in the driver seat and they wear out the second winter I use them, eventually breaking and requiring replacement. Overall, a highly recommended investment for anyone seeking enhanced traction and safety in icy conditions.

    So good
I had bought these a few years ago and decided to gift one to my mom. It works well on ice and snow and gives you a lot more confidence walking in slippery conditions. Would highly recommend.

Flimsy packaging and appears to be pre-opened, returned, and sent out to me as new
This is a gift for my sister, so I don’t have time to return and wait for a replacement (especially since I’m not a prime member) and they are for winter, but the box was crushed, AND torn open on two corners, and while it is a flimsy box, I don’t see how it would get like that (crushed AND torn in two spots) unless someone already got them, opened it to look at (but didn’t take the yaktrax out as I don’t see how they’d be able to fit them back in so neatly), and then returned them and Yaktrax sent them to me (waah).
Also, should have been noticed in warehouse and not shipped to me like that. Three stars as the product appears to be decent; my sister will tell me once she wears them and walks the dogs and walks in from her icy parking lot that the company she works for refuses to do proper snow and ice removal on.

Walks are so much easier now that I have these. They fit over my boots so nicely and work perfectly. The first wear it was hard to put them on but after a couple of uses they stretch out a bit and make it easier to put them on. I love that I can walk with confidence now on icy days. These seem very durable like they will last many years. I’m on my second winter with them now! They’d make a good gift too.

Bought this as i was scared of falling over on the ice after. Bad slip.
Works great as i felt more steady on ice with these thank on normal pavement
Feet hurt after a long walk in trainers so reconmend wearing with boots,
Fit over boots great and snug.
But if your a Londoner you may have trouble on and off tubes. Had to keep taking then off and putting them on to do stairs and slippery smooth surfaces indoors on my commute.
But if your outdoors in snow and ice, these are perfect
