For many years I used Neutrogena’s shaving cream for sensitive skin that had salicylic acid in it to reduce ingrown hairs. Unfortunately, they discontinued it so I had to find another shaving cream. I found two products with salicylic acid in them and tried both: MenScience Androceuticals Advanced Shave Formula and GiGi No Bump Skin Smoothing Shave Gel. I’ve tried both for about 2 months now and here is my review…
The GiGi shave gel price was nearly the same as the Neutrogena’s shaving cream. It’s actually a gel, not a cream, so it feels different when smearing it on my face. And even though it has these little blue balls in the gel, once it’s on your face, it’s completely clear. This makes shaving quite challenging! However, it works well and after a couple of weeks using it, I had minimal bumps and stuff. I’m going to start using it full time and get rid of the other stuff.

I bought this product for my husbandâ¦. hear me out. My husband is African-American and if you donât know many not all have sensitive skin when shaving. Iâm sure there are many products on the market and everyone responds differently. However, this product works for him. Designed with Salicylic Acid (exfoliates & unclogs pores)and Chamomile Extract which prevents ingrown hairs, bumps, and razor burns. This also soothes and helps inflammation.
The tube is a regular size 6oz. It should last for quite some time and is suitable for those wanting to âtest the watersâ. Overall experience is spa like says my husband. itâs doesnât irritate his skin or leave it greasy. This product definitely lives up to its claims of reducing ingrown hairs, bumps and razor burn. Skin is smooth post shave! If you are having shave related issues then you might want to consider this product. It can be used for all skin types.

Applying this before shaving and the GiGi no bump solution after is life changing!! Ive always struggled with ingrown hairs and idek how but this miraculously makes me have none ever! i reapply the solution before bed at least two or three days after shaving as well and it works wonders

Don’t waste your money
I had to get this after Neutrogena stopped making their shaving cream. The reason I got this was to fight bumps and razor burn. This product is far inferior to Neutrogena. I developed a few bumps & red spots after using this a couple times so I stopped.
Also, it is very watery and slides all over your face when you apply. They tell you not to lather. You get a close shave but it kinda hurts. The product stinks as well. I would never use this again.
