    Fun read, fun workout
    “Chair yoga is for those joints who want to stage a revolt.” When I read those words I knew I had a good book. Amelia’s funny, yet pragmatic way of describing the challenges seniors face as they get older is enough to keep the reader chuckling and engaged. Honestly, I was just going to flip through the book and do some of the exercises.
    I ended up reading from the beginning and got far more out of this book than other yoga books I’ve skimmed through.
    She has QR codes to scan to get a visual of the exercises. There are yoga techniques from beginner to advanced, and even has a wheelchair section.
    I was particularly intrigued with the techniques for specific ailments from osteoporosis to digestive and health, and even tops it off with nutrition advice.
    Finally, she encourages the reader to complete a 28 day challenge and judge for themselves how they feel.
    If you want to improve flexibility and have a laugh along the way, this book is for you!

    I thought this book would be worth a shot for my grandmother, though I wasn’t sure much could be done while sitting in a chair. However, I was wrong – this takes you through all the ranges of motion, makes it very simple, and also works (always a bonus). For seniors, sometimes ANY movement can be a huge improvement – and this makes adding movement both easy and safe. Highly recommend for seniors with mobility or balance issues.

    Good for spinal cord injureds
    I am not quite a senior, but getting there. 😉 I am however, wheelchair bound, so finding unique and interesting ways to exercise while seated is something I am always on the lookout for. Some poses need to be creatively altered to work, but for the most part, I was able to implement many. Feels good to move and stretch. I recommend this book for anyone with limited mobility.
