I read about 100 books a year, and have never read anything written in this style before! It reads like a fictional memoir, mixed in with actual information regarding fitness. Take an adventure with Franny, Nora, Robbie, and their coach, Marco as they share stories about health in a light, fun, and conversational tone. I often found myself laughing out loud at some of their conversation. I would say overall this book is about getting you in the right mindset to start a strength training routine. There are illustrations with thorough descriptions of each exercise mentioned. There are modifications for certain health issues such as osteoarthritis and others. I love how this book owns the fact that as we age, we are more likely to have health issues pop up, but the fact that it takes a joyful ride with mental health and girlfriends, makes it even better!

I can so relate to Franny this book sums my life up I felt like my body is falling apart snap crackle pop like she said, I always had a excuse to why I couldn’t get up and get moving I had/ have no motivation and always seem to make the excuse I have something to do just to get out of working out. This book has helped me by setting goals I have a routine now that I stick by and I reward myself more now. This book lays the exercises out and has some pics so you can make sure your form is right. I haven’t had this book long but im getting back on track to taking care of me now and I’m loving this book.

I am a woman over fifty and needed this book. I am overweight and have some issues with my health but want to remedy that. This book was funny, actually reading stories about other women with different ailments. You must include stretching in your workout and have the right mindset. This book includes a full muscle workout with illustrations and instructions. This book also has a workout for someone like me that has osteoporosis without using weights. I found this book thoroughly written for me, a great workout book for women.

When I picked this book up, I expected a book full of exercises and exercise routines. And I got that. But I got so much more! The author is hilarious – almost every page made me laugh out loud. Literally. She totally understands where the older woman is coming from in life – but she also knows how important exercise is, and not everyone can do cardio.
There is so much info in this book about health, exercise, nutrition and life.
I would love to be stronger. Not bodybuilder strong, but âI donât need help opening the jar of picklesâ strong. So I have started these simple exercises – and so far, so god!
