Complete and yet simple.
As an Animation student we are required to learn, practice and always draw the figure. I have been doing figure drawing for 2 years now trying to find a book that would let me see the skeleton first, then the head, work down the body and start with the muscles in a clear, simple and complete way. This is the only book that has all of this and I’ve seen a lot. It is cheap and it has everything an artists needs to have a good understanding of anatomy. It has a lot of detail but not too much that an artist wouldn’t care. It’s perfect.

Good reference of anatomy for artists.
Great book for exploring anatomy of the human body – especially helpful for artists. This book is full of many different pictures of parts of the body (from numerous sources). It depicts the skeleton, muscles, and skin in different ways, so artists can replicate realistic movement. It is a very useful book, but I found the information somewhat “dis-jointed” (for example, the body proportions of a baby are shown on the page opposite of eye movements & facial wrinkles). This book is exactly what I was looking for! This seller kept this book in prestige condition! It is a paper back book with no tears, folds or any blemishes on the book. The book doesn’t even look used! Will definitely buy from this seller again!

Great Book, Not Great Condition
This is a great anatomy book to have in any figure drawing artist’s library. One of the best books actually that I have, and I do have many anatomy books. The figures are very well illustrated and many of them are in large drawing plates. It is a rather concise book, which is nice as it focuses on the main concepts from skeletal, muscular and illustrative figures.The illustrations when placed side-by-side with the muscle diagrams are quite valuable and helps in understanding how to correctly shade the muscle on the figure.Overall, there are 189 different plates covering the entire human anatomy for artists.This is one of the best book that we have at art school as an anatomy reference available for us in the art studio. However, I like it so much I wanted to get my own copy. I bought it used and now I’m regretting that decision.This is the third used books in my library but I’m quite disappointed (hence, the overall rating). The description indicated ‘Very Good Condition’ and I saw many satisfaction reviews given to the seller. However, the book is not in very good condition by any standard. It came in a very nice plastic tight packaging. With the original book sleeve (I bought the hard cover copy). Other than that, the pages are yellowish color and they do smell like old books. The feel and the smell of the book indicates it was not kept well. The cover is stained from the inside. That doesn’t bother me, it is the old feel and smell of the book that do. Even though there are no missing pages, no wrinkled pages or stained pages. It is just was not kept well. Maybe it is my standard, but I would have listed it as “Good” instead.

O livro reúne diversos estudos de todas as partes do corpo com muito detalhe, incluindo nome, fotos reais, desenhos de mestres e desenhos anatômicos de cada músculo, além de apresentar como alguns músculos funcionam quando tensionados (embora não todos). Muito bom pra quem não pode gastar muito e quer apenas ter uma ideia geral de como funciona a anatomia humana voltada para arte.
