Old School Curling Iron
I’m old enough to remember when all curling irons were like this, so it’s not a great shocker for the money. The 5/8″ size is exactly what I’ve been looking for, as 1/2″ makes my hair fuzzy and 3/4″ makes curls that are too loose to give any body to my fine hair. The curls are very smooth and long lasting. These are the plus factors. On the negative size, there is no temperature control, no ceramic coating (use a heat protective product prior to drying your hair), and it takes a LONG time to heat up. The little dot turns from red to a grayish color when it is fully heated. I plug it in, go put on my makeup, and then come back. You have to unplug it, as there is no off switch. Overall, this does what I need it to, although I may look for another one with more features.

It took me 45 minutes to do my hair, and the curler barely got hot. It just has a red dot that means it’s on, but the heat isn’t enough for string curls and it is just so flimsy… don’t buy it!

This is a great curling iron, the best I’ve found since my classic Clairol Crazy Locks finally gave up the ghost.It grasps hair easily and securely but it’s easy to slide smoothly along the strand to the very ends. The simple lever point is perfect, whether you like to use your thumb or a finger, and also super easy to use.I thought about giving it only four stars, because I don’t know yet whether this one will last 35 years, too, like my Crazy Locks.

I was pleasantly surprised! Product arrived quickly and in great condition. The tool itself is small, but gets the job done.I found it hard to find a curling iron at .625 inch on amazon.ca that was a decent price. amazon.com had a great selection but shipping wasn’t feasible.I’ve used it at least 6-7 times since purchase, it heats up nicely (yet slowly), easy to use and cool to the touch at the ends. Good value for the price.Would recommend!
