Old school wax⦠no Teflon (PFAS) coating!
Given that Teflon is a source of micro plastics and that is what is used to make modern floss silky smooth, Iâm happy to go back to the less smooth wax coated floss.

Years of using this make healthy teeth
I’ve been using Tom’s floss for years and it’s a constant favorite. I’ve tried others, some very new and popular, others the same old “silk” style, and always come back to Tom’s. Big reason is that it’s highly effective in its job – nothing else compares. I won’t go TMI but it’s much more efficient and effective at getting out what goes in, and keeping my teeth and gums very healthy. When trying other floss I always notice that my teeth just don’t feel as clean and ‘stripped’ as they are with Tom’s. I now buy it by the half dozen because it’s just less expensive than single container purchase, and I’ll always have enough.

Super Strong Floss
It only took me 76 years, but I think I have finally found for me, the worlds best floss. I have had many years to try and test just about every brand and material of floss out there. Unti recently I had never heard of Tom’s of Maine dental floss. After reading it was made from nylon, I had to give it a try. Compared to other flosses I have used, this brand seems unbreakable and is very shred resistant (but not shred proof).

Canât use with tightly spaced teeth!
This floss is unable to pass the tight spaces between my teeth. It is rough and it takes a great deal of force to get it through the contact area of the teeth, and by that point it hits my gum so hard that it hurts. Then when I try to pull it out it feels like itâs going to pull the tooth out of the socket. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!

PFAS free, but shreds
I wanted floss that is free of forever chemicals – and Tom’s is. But the problem is I have tight tooth spaces and the floss shreds. It doesn’t break now that I use a “sawing motion” against the tooth itself, but bits of the floss sometimes get trapped between my teeth and that is uncomfortable. On the plus side, I think my teeth feel cleaner despite the trapped bits of floss.

Best floss ever
This floss is durable and will thoroughly clean between your teeth. I have an old pack and the floss quality is exactly the same so Iâm unsure where the change in quality complaints are coming from. For the people who say the floss is too thick please consult with your dentist on the best flossing techniques or get a DEEP cleaning done to remove calcified plaque and tartar that may be between your teeth from buildup/irregular flossing. If you floss regularly this is the one for you!

Other brands arenât thick enough to really get all the gunk between the teeth. This is the only floss Iâll ever buy again!

I like the quality of this floss and thickness of the floss. To my surprise, Toms floss has natural flavour in it. Natural flavour is a type of MSG that has been rebranded. Natural flavour/MSG is a neurotoxin, and Iâm very sensitive to it. I like that product but I wonât buy it again because of the natural flavour added.

The floss was too thick and incompatible for my usage. It takes time for me to slide the flossing between my teeth and out again. Thereâs a fear of cutting my gum since I need to use more strength to get the floss in and out of my teeth.
