I got goosebumps.
This was such a great book. I get pretty irritated with books that have a repeated line throughout the book (it feels lazy and I lose interest after the third or fourth repetition) and even though this book kinda uses this, it also doesn’t because it does so in a manner that I didn’t notice it until after it started and there was enough change each time that it didn’t feel repetitive, lazy, or boring. The author clearly put effort into thinking about the kids reading it AND the parents reading it. My daughter enjoyed it during storytime tonight and I enjoyed it too. I connected with the characters, felt the main character’s unconditional love and care for others, and got goosebumps reading it. This is what I want my kids to both read and learn. I want to keep raving about this, but will spare you and simply say that this should be in every home and library.
