Bands work very well – no real complaints
I bought these exercise bands in February of 2020, before the pandemic hit, luckily; so I was prepared. I’m very peculiar about my workout equipment. I’ve been wrestling / fighting for most of my life, and I need up to par equipment for optimal workouts. These exercise bands feel great, and with all the variations of weight you can put together these bands are viable for beginners as well as more advanced efficianados. The reason I gave versatility a 4/5, is because by nature it can be slightly hard to hit certain workouts that the bands don’t naturally align to; though for the most part most workouts are doable, and there are ways to hit ever muscle if you use your imagination or lookup exercise band workouts. Durability is a 4/5 (though it may be bad luck and I should have given it a 5/5) because one of the bands was slowly ripping and snapped on me when I was doing a workout. I may have unknowingly caught it on something that may have given it the initial tear that kept getting worse. The other 4 out of 5 bands are still going strong, and I really push these things. The range of motion is great (5/5), these things can really take a nice stretching. You can start your workouts with more tension in the band to maintain tension in your resting positions, the band can stretch quite a bit and still maintains a smooth feeling of motion. You will have to attach the band properly to something or get it in a good position to get the most out of the range of motion. Overall this brand of bands are a good addition to a home gym, or a good solo method of working out at home. It can definitely give you a solid burn, some muscle size/ definition, and endurance. I would recommend them. The customer service is also great, I reached out to Whatafit about the band that broke and they promptly replied to me to send a replacement.
Overall 4.5 out of 5, but I’ll round up to 5/5 due to the customer service!

    Best Bands By Far!
I was nervous to try these after having many other bands break on me in the past. These have been wonderful. They stretch but don’t get visibly thinner with each use. They have held up to a lot of pull and are helping me tone up my muscles well. I highly recommend them. I have the 300lb set.

Very well made for the price
Just got them, tried a few exercises with the 10 lb and then 50 lb. Worked very well and the 50 lb is for real. I’m 70 and wife and I are trying to get back into shape. I have a full gym with 300 lb olympic set, kettlebells and barbells that I haven’t used for quite a while. We are going to use these for a month or so to ease into it and avoid injury. Like that you can use hand held or strap to ankles. Would def recommend.

Great, Great Resistance bands. I love them!
    Resistance Tubes or Resistance Bands.
First, a little refresher, this product is a resistance “tube”. Many people, (myself included) have often used the term interchangeably to refer to two completely different types of equipment for exercise. A tube is the product I am writing the review for and will refer to them as such throughout the duration of my experience.
    History with Weight Lifting
I started out with body weight exercises in my room from a navy seals manual. After enough diet and body weight exercise, I gained 30lbs. I switched exclusively to weight training for overall strength and built a routine I followed for the next 7 years. Unfortunately, the pandemic happened — then — the gym and weights became extremely scarce. Our living situation forced me to downsize the options I could pursue gym wise from a bench, plates and a variety of bars/dumbbells to a minimalist approach to building strength, muscle and endurance.
Bands/Tubes and Building the big 3
I mentioned routines that many would be familiar with in building the “Big 3” found in using “weights” or “free weights”. Yes, you can build muscle with weight training, I myself, frowned upon the use of tubes as a silly way of building any kind of strength, muscle and endurance. I focused primarily on the bench and machines for movements I perform now using these resistance tubes exclusively to build the big 3.
After getting rid of the free weights that took up precious space around the house, I strived for a new approach to my routine. These tubes, take up so little space, I went from using the bag to a clear plastic case that sits in my closet. I’ve tailored my routine around 3-4 days of active work-outs, breaking down my muscle groups into each day. For me and my routine, I perform 4 to 5 exercises per muscle on those days. These are not isolated to using the resistance tubes, but a combination of bodyweight exercises.
In about 1 year of use, I am growing towards a ‘leaner’ but ‘strong’ build than I did with dumbbells, bars and machines. A little more detail below.
How Do I Build Muscle/Strength/Endurance with $30 tubes?
Weights, Machines, Bars, etc all do basically the same thing. They add “resistance” to your movements while your muscles respond to that resistance by growing after repetitive sets with time. Can you accomplish this with a set of $30 tubes and body weight exercises? Yes. How?
YouTube & Google, Trial and Error. Of course no one wants to hear how they have to ‘test out what works for their body’ but if you are looking for a quick fix to your problems — then tubes are not for you. If you want to build muscle, strength and endurance — understand you have to be patient, take your time and adjust the routine around what you body is telling you. I have personally changed my routine through the months to eventually find ‘sweet spots’ to promote the physique that I am after.
    Final thoughts
Extremely durable, you can add more tubes to increase the overall resistance by purchasing an additional set. Combining two sets of tubes will give you 300lbs of total resistance. I’d recommend these as an all in one exercise companion for us on a budget. Keep in mind, diet and nutrition go a long way to promote muscle growth and will help by staying disciplined and planning out for a long haul. Increase resistance slowly, give your body time to recover and you will see gains and improvement with these tubes.
