Brief: Great product, the most matte product I’ve ever found and incredibly strong hold once it dries (20-30 seconds after spreading across your hands)
I care about my hair more than I should. A bad hair day means I’m putting on a hat and calling it good. Paul Mitchell’s lineup is the only product I have used for 6 or 7 years now. I use the clean cut as my primary because I like that it stays maliable and has nice texture. It’s a great option when my hair is freshly cut. After 2-3 weeks is starts to look overgrown and if I use the clean cut it can sometimes seems greasy. This is when I switch to this particular variation. It’s very moist when you apply it to your hands, then starts to dry rapidly after about 20-30 seconds. Long enough to apply it without it being hard to spread, but you have to know how you’re styling it once it’s in.
It’s not gel-like stiffness at all, it’s almost like my hair would be after a game when I was a catcher in baseball. I know this is a niche group that will understand but there is a dryness and clay-esque feeling about your hair when the dust/dirt/sweat mixes under the helmet. It doesn’t give much if a textured look but for a somebody that runs a 2 or 3 guard on the side on a fresh cut and goes 3-4 weeks between appointments it’s a nice way to keep a clean look for the last week or so before your next cut.

Great Value Hair Clay
Above average value hair clay. I have shorter hair but like to spike it up. Rubs in really easily, only need a little bit, hair holds well. Will buy again.

Better than reformer
I went from using about one of the material every 8ish months from using a full container of the reformer every 4-5 months. I definitely prefer getting the material, it holds far stronger so you can just use less per use. Quantity compared to an old spice clay is definitely perceivable. It’s probably the only thing I can use for my thick blonde hair that actually holds and doesn’t shine (makes my hair look greasy) definitely worth the price.

Quality went down, not as thick as it used to be and hold is only OK
I’ve been a user of this for awhile, but my prior canister was much better quality. Something happened since my last purchase. This seemed like a much lighter, cheaper quality version than my last few canisters. I had to use a lot of product to get the same hold I would get with a pinky size of product. Pretty disappointed especially given the price. I’m better off ordering Suavecito for less money and same “ok” quality hold.
