Works great
Had one of these and lost it. Missed it every time I took line off a reel. This is no where near the quality of the one that grew legs but works flawlessly. If you have never used one of these you will never remove line any other way once you do.

It isnt a super high quality product that i expect to last forever, however it really makes stripping line off rods a breeze. Mine has not broken yet unlike other reviews suggest. It does seem like it would wear out after a while though. I dont think its meant to last forever, with that said i really like mine. If it breaks and there isnt a better option ill buy another one.It did not work out of the box, I cannot remember exactly what i had to repair. But it was a quick and simple fix. I believe it was a bent contact no connecting to battery well.

I need to first mention that I use this tool for unreeling yarn into a container for machine knitting, not for anything fishing related. That said, I bought this one because the one I bought about 18 years ago went missing during a recent move. It looks and works nothing like the old one, it’s a flimsy piece of plastic that almost broke because of how hard I had to push in the batteries – it didn’t work at all without doing that. Perhaps thin fishing line feeds easily but the only yarn I could get to feed was thin crochet string, anything else wouldn’t feed at all or jammed it, the old one could handle many thicker yarns. It’s also very hard to see where to feed whatever is going in – the old one had a tiny space which made it easy to see where to feed the string. The only positives I can give this is it is cheap and it has a wrist strap – the old one didn’t have a strap.
