A Lovely Book
I am enjoying this series of books. The autho has a nice writing style with enough twists and turns to keep me interested. I finished this book last night and started the next in series today while I having chemo. It is a perfect book with continuation of a nice storyline. Recommend it for light romance and strong women admirers.

SWEET STORY – NICE PEOPLE – AND HUMOR – A WELL DONE BOOK
Cranfield is a very small village in England. Nothing much happens there. The most recent excitement was when lavender became an agricultural phenomenon for the area.Katy has lost her job at a large hospitality corporation. Her live-in boyfriend has just moved out. Katy needs a new place to be in life. Drinking too much and applying to an online ad for a job is probably not the best choice. The description just says they need someone to clean up a mess. That is right up Katyâs alley. When she arrives at her destination, she finds it is not a hospitality site. It is an abandoned railroad station. And the station is filled to the brim with stuff. Boxes, pieces of machinery, out of date tickets and even more stuff.Katy believes she can make a change here. Little does she know. The station is a family site. There are three generations of men here who need help. A great deal of help. Not just for the visible mess, but for the disappointments in their lives.Eddie is a grandfather. He has worked for the railroad and now he is helping his son, Bob, restore a full sized steam locomotive. That locomotive has taken over Bobâs life to the exclusion of everything else, including his marriage. Ryan is Bobâs eldest son. He was a superstar chef in Rome when he lost his job and his reputation because a customer lied. He has come home, to help his father cope. And also to lick his wounds. This family needs sorting.Katy has been a very rigid woman. Her life has become nothing more than her work and without a job, she feels at a loss. She has no actual relationships. Friends are just people who will let you down. The story is a simple one. Lifeâs problems are solved. People find their paths in life. Most of all, people find what is truly important in life. The characters are each complete people. Their situations are what people face in life. Money, loneliness, and fears of failure are what these people see. These things are what they must overcome. And solutions are not necessarily quick or easy. This book is part of a series, but it works as a stand alone read. The past is explained and it is easy to follow the action and relationships. This is a sweet story about nice people. I enjoyed the book very much.

LFG –
a bit mushy
It started out with an interesting plot, you kept wondering what was going to go wrong and add a bit more drama. But everything the heroine did worked out great for everyone involved. But this is a guyâs perspective, a galâs thoughts on this story will no doubt be different.

This book is really a flight of fancy but it is a great escape read. When life is sad and lonely you need somewhere to escape to. Alison Sherlock creates that world for you in this book. The characters are lovable , real and down to earth and there are no villains. Itâs good to lose oneself for a while.

I wish the author had passed this wonderful story by a good editor to smooth out some awkward and repetitive sections. This story deserves such attention, and really should be worth five stars, except for those clunky passages.

The story is good, albeit somewhat predictable at times. What bothered me while reading are the many mistakes in the grammar, writing, and style! For a book to be published these mistakes must be checked and corrected beforehand. Shameful to sell books to clients without doing the proper editing and proofreading.
