    Good value, upgrade.
Finally replaced my 20+yr old Philips Philishave that wasn’t up to par anymore. Similar model that I’m happy with, cuts clean and smooth. Now can be recharged wherever there’s USB power, and wet or dry shave.

    Great product
I have used Norelco (now Philips Norelco) triple head electric shavers for many years. My last shaver lasted 17 years – and although the battery was no longer able to hold a good charge, I was able to use it while plugged in and that gave me many more years of product life. If you cannot use the shaver when plugged in, then the product life will end when the battery is no longer able to hold a charge sufficient to complete a shave. With that in mind, I wanted a new shaver that would also work while plugged in, and this model provides that (as do other models in the 2000 series from what I have read). The tradeoff is that you are not supposed to use the shaver in a wet type of application. All of the “higher end” electric shavers are wet/dry, and thus are not supposed to be used when plugged in. I have read that they actually will not turn on when plugged in as a safety feature, but I do not have direct experience with that. That means the more expensive shavers will likely have a shorter product life.
I found the shave of this new (model 2500) shaver to be great. In that regard, I am not sure that the more expensive models (some significantly more expensive) would provide much added benefit. Cleaning is easy – you just open the head and blow/brush is out or run water over it (be sure it is unplugged).
This model comes with pop-up trimmer. I wanted a model with a pop-up trimmer, and not all the more expensive models have them. Philips Norelco website indicates the shaving heads should be replaced every 2 years. However, the instructions that came with the product indicated they should be replaced every year. The cost of replacement heads in much less for this shaver compared with the more expensive electric shavers. And from experience with previous models, they will still do a decent job shaving with less frequent head replacements.
This model also comes with a travel pouch. In my previous versions of Norelco shavers, the travel pouches were well designed and specifically fit the shaver and also had a separate section for the power cord. The pouch with the 2500 is simply a very thin rectangular pouch that is not designed specifically for the shaver and does not have a specific area for the power cord. The quality and design of the travel pouch was disappointing. I also found images of this exact product with a different travel pouch that looked more sturdy and well designed, but to be fair, those images were not associated with this product listing on Amazon.
Previous versions of Norelco electric razors used accordion style power plugs that were durable and felt like they would last. The current power cord is not an accordion style, and it does not feel like it is as well made or as durable. Also a bit disappointing and less convenient for easy storage. Similar to older versions, the product can be used with 100-240V, and thus can easily be used worldwide. Some Braun products moved away from being able to use worldwide voltages that they used to support, so if you travel globally, check on that (Braun make foil-type shavers and electric toothbrushes).
Overall, this product provided most of what I was looking for, and at a price that was less to much less than higher end models that probably provide little functional advantage, will cost more to maintain (replacement heads), and which I suspect will not last as long if their product life ends when their battery life ends. The quality and design of both the travel pouch and charger were disappointing.

    quiet, sturdy, efficient
Some have complained these shavers are weak, but they’re probably used to those foil lawnmowers – they make a lot more noise and can vibrate like an old truck, but they don’t shave any closer or faster. The blades on this one seem to spin slower than earlier models, but I still get a great shave just running it over my face gently and slowly. And the trimmer’s good for sideburns and light edge work. Don’t let the quiet fool you. The spindles that turn the blades have a loose connection, so don’t clean aggressively (as you can with foil mowers). Just use a light brush, and use it lightly.

    New Philips Norelco Shaver
This shaver is so much more quiet than others I have had.
Shaves close and charges quickly so no cord while shaving
I’m truly pleased with this purchase.

    Mediocre
This shaver doesn’t shave as well as my 10-year-old Philips/Norelco shaver. I would still use the old one, but the NiMH battery is now faulty and prevents the shaver from working even in corded mode and the battery isn’t intended to be user replaceable. The battery on this shaver isn’t intended to be user-replaceable, either, and I don’t know why because, the battery has a lifetime of about 5 years. This model includes a USB-A charging cable, but doesn’t include the charger, so they expect users to provide their own outdated USB-A charger. It’s super annoying since the cable is USB type A on the charger end, but the shaver end is proprietary. Why not just use USB-C on the shaver end so owners can use their existing cables and chargers?

    Electric razor
This thing is light and feels really cheaply made…but it does a fantastic job. Just hope it lasts for awhile. Good product.

    Different than expected
I was replacing a razor that I have had for around 12 years. So when I got it some improvements have been made. I expected the round disks to be a little rougher. SO I was skeptical to how well it would cut. But it actually shaves pretty smooth for an electric razor and the battery is lasting about two weeks in-between charges. So I am impressed.

Bought one of these 25 years ago. Loved it. Bought another one recently. Same shaver.
Nice to see that good shavers never change.
