Great book – so many options!
Terri has coached me before for triathlon and provided some great swim workouts for that discipline which I’ve used for open water swimming over the years – but this book gives me multiple distance options, along with drills, different sets, and just provides so many more options. That keeps the 2 to 3 pool workouts a week from becoming routine or boring, especially since I train by myself. I now do more open water swimming so I now have many more workouts depending on the challenge of the upcoming event.Terri is experienced at so many different disciplines and events that she keeps it interesting. Highly recommend to swimmers of all levels, there’s something for everybody here.

This book is for swimming up and down the pool I was hoping more for a book that would show me how to do body workouts in the pool.

This book contains tons of great workouts, however I wish there was more explanation about why different workouts are useful and what purpose they applied to. Still, I’m going to get a lot of mileage out of this in my exercises.

Seems to be a copy of somebody’s daily workout- Don’t bother
Don’t bother. It is page after page of nonsense. Numbers and abbreviations that mean nothing to someone who is looking for guidance on technique, warm up exercises, ways to progress. It looks like somebody’s workout daily progress.This book has a paragraph on what a swim cap is, yet does not give any instruction whatsoever on warm up exercises, form or any other helpful information – it is useless. Sent back immediately.

I was definitely one of those ‘flat-lining’ swimmers before discovering this book, and only went in search of it because I was becoming increasingly bored of doing length after length with little further progress. Now not only are my swims more interesting but they are more challenging, and I come out the pool feeling like I’ve had a proper workout.My only slight criticism is that most of the workouts are designed with a 25m pool in mind. I understand that this is the most common configuration but a 50m friendly section would be helpful. That said, this book is encouraging me to go to the pool more during the 25m sessions rather than waiting for the 50s so that has to be a good thing!

While many workout are present there is no structure; Just a sequence of workouts ordered by length
