Perfect hat to keep rain off your head and face in climate that are not humid/hot
Bought this hat for rainy season as it keeps the rain off your face and head/neck – works perfectly in this climate. Not the best hat to wear in hot humid climates as the hat does not breath as well as some other hats in very humid/hot climates.

Truly waterproof!
This cost more than the cheaper so-called waterproof hats but it does the shop the others don’t (I tried a few). I wore this on an 11 day hike in Ireland where it rained nearly every day. This hat kept my head and hair dry, and kept the water off my face.

Great hat once you get the sizing right.
I wear between a 7 3/4 and 7 7/8 hat so I ordered the XL. This was a mistake. It “fit” but came down all the way to my ears. I could make it work but a good wind would take this right off my head. This is the first time in my adult life that I had to downsize to the large hat. I am not sure who the XL was designed for. I have a really big noggin. One size fits all baseball caps never fit my head. The XL Seattle Sombrero I received was made for an 8 or 8 1/2 sized head. I ordered a second had in the Large and it fit perfectly.Sizing issues aside, this is a good hat for sun protection and a great had to protection against the rain.

My new favorite hat.
I’ve had a Seattle Sombrero for years, used it when needed, and it did its job in the rain perfectly. When I saw that they had discontinued it and came out with these new hats, in many colors, I decided to try one. I’m glad I did. I really like this hat. It fits great, sits nicely on my head and I love the tapered brim. Longer in the back, shorter in the front. And it works great in the rain. Only difference is this hat doesn’t have the velcro adjustment for the size. When I bought it in large it was too big. Exchanged it for a Medium, perfect. And with all the colors and combinations, you should be able to get one to match whatever rain jacket you are wearing.Highly recommend this hat.

Great hat for everything
Great hat. I wear it probably 300 days a year. Summer for sun and rain, spring and fall for rain, winter for snow. Only time I switch is pretty much for midwinter when I need more warmth. I wear glasses, and it keeps the sun and the snow and rain off my glasses so I can see. My old one has survived seven years of daily wear plus two puppies (who learned to steal it when I was getting ready to go outside, to entice me to get ready faster?). New on the left, old on the right. I still wear the old one sometimes around the garden or painting, but figured it’s time to get a new one.

Bei starkem Wind an der See ist eine Kapuze bei Regen natürlich viel sinnvoller, aber ansonsten ist dieser Hut einfach genial bei längeren Wanderungen im Regen und sein Geld auf jeden Fall wert. Die breite Krempe sorgt dafür das kein Wasser in den Kragen läuft und der Kinnriemen lässt den Hut nicht davonfliegen wenn es etwas windiger wird.
