Leaves beard moisturized and smelling like a forest
This Mountain Lake beard oil arrived quickly, in a dark dropper bottle, with a suitably “artisan” label and feel appropriate to a small batch product. Regrettably (or not), I don’t have a beard, but I gave it to my younger adult son who has been using beard oil for a while. He reports that it works “about like a decent beard oil,” which, apparently, means it moisturizes and softens. He did, however, complain that he did not care for the “Mountain Original” scent. I would have to agree. It smells like spruce or some other evergreen, which isn’t completely surprising, given the scent name, but it is not an especially pleasant version of that vibe. It reminded me of those scent sticks you can add to fake holiday trees, which are somewhat harsh and overwhelming. The smell of this product wasn’t too strong at first, but I can’t imagine wanting that aroma tucked just under my nose all day long, and he reported that the smell didn’t really dissipate quickly. He brought it to the kitchen for me to sniff, and left it there. A few days later, it’s still sitting on the shelf in the kitchen and he doesn’t smell like a high-altitude forest. Take from that what you will.

Fantastic scent but didn’t work in my beard……
I paid for this product. I notice all the other reviews appear to be for a free product. I have a relatively long beard and I’ve had it since 2018 so I’ve used a variety of beard oils over the years. I was excited for this new brand/scent profiles. I like supporting new companies. The blend looked excellent to me based on my knowledge of carriers and experience using oils and what works for me. First off, the scent is absolutely fantastic. One of the best scent profiles I’ve ever used. Kind of addictive. The problem is this blend just didn’t work in my beard. I used for days and then tried alternating with another oil. It’s winter and I use oil twice a day btw. This oil just left my beard almost instantly dry and thin. The fullness/shape went away and I had a lot of fly aways. I looked horrible and I’ve never really had a beard oil do this. Took me a couple days to figure it out and it didn’t seem to matter how much or little I used. The second I went back to one of my usual blends (Honest Amish) my beard returned to it’s usual state. I don’t know if I got a bad batch here or something or if it was oxidized nor do I understand why this blend wouldn’t work for me but it just didn’t.

Soft beard with a fresh scent
I love the scent of this beard oil. It smells like Iâm walking through a pine forest after a fresh rain. The pine is a very distinguished scent in this oil, and I love it. Every candle and freshener I own has a pine scent to it, so it was only natural for me to order this beard oil so my husbandâs beard could smell like gentle pine. He has allergy issues so couldnât smell it as well as I could, but he loved the way it made his beard feel. Since itâs winter, it makes the skin under his beard itch, and he said that the most noticeable thing about this oil was that it eliminated that issue. We loved this oil so much, we ordered another bottle in the lake drift scent. Great beard oil all around!

This beard oil in the scent “Mountain Original” has such a great fresh long-lasting fragrance to it and according to the husband, the oil applies well to the beard.
