Valerie M. Bodden is a gifted writer. Her Hope Springs books revolve around a large loving family who live out their deep faith through their everyday actions. This is probably one of my favorite books by her!

Even If….
Loved this story and these characters. The basic story is similar to some of others by Valerie Bodden (life doesn’t happen the way you want it to, so blame God and give up totally on Him, until … and so on.) Yet this has a unique message, one I needed. In all circumstances of life we need to continue in faith and trust in God, “even if” the outcome is painful and doesn’t turn out the way we think it should . We don’t have the big picture and can’t know the mind of God.

Inspirational story which tackles some difficult questions, such as how can God love us if terrible things happen to us or those we love. Or why does He not answer our prayers in the way we want? There are lots of references to God’s word. The story is a bit sappy at times – especially the ending – but sometimes that makes for an enjoyable read.

The reason I don’t like some Christian romantic fiction is because it’s ‘cheese factor 10!” Life and Christian life isn’t like that. In some way we’re all broken. In my humble opinion, Valerie portrays this better than any other author in the genre but is clear that God accepts us even with our brokenness and offers the only healing of eternal value.
