Awesome Ice Shelter. 100% Recommended.
This tent is awesome! I love it. I received it on a Thursday and took it fishing the next day on Upper Red Lake, MN. There were over 1000 tents set up as it was the only ice in the Midwest and I wouldnât have traded mine for any of them. The color scheme really stands out. The thickness is great for holding heat. I donât think I saw other brands with 900 denier. We were able to get down to a long sleeve shirt with the heater on medium. It is easy to set up and take down. Sturdy. The size it perfect for 2 guys with lots of gear including a cooler, heater, chairs, fishing equipment, and tote. You can easily fit 4 guys with limited gear. The only change I would make would be to make the four corner anchor rings more accessible and Iâd probably make them metal as they are plastic. They really are a pain to get the anchors through and down with how limited access they are. Other than that I would 100% recommend this tent!

Awesome shelter for Emergency Field raido operations.
On Nov. 12, 2021, we had to setup an Emergency Communications station for a national FEMA exercise. It was extremely windy, 35-48mph with temps of 39@ 0615hrs. to 44@ 1100hrs. With no heater, it was 69 degrees inside with no wind entering the Clam. When we do Winter Field-Day in the cold, it will be great, perfect equipment to keep you dry and warm! Great Job Clam!

Well constructed structure
I was impressed with the construction / sturdiness of the ice shelter…nearly wind proof. Even on a cloudy day, the shelter was about 10-15 degrees warmer inside than the outside temperature which was near 0 degree. Assembly was easy after viewing a few Youtube videos pacific to this product, Clam X 400 Hub. The only negative is that I am 5’4″ tall and popping up the roof was a real stretch for me in that my reach is about 7 ft. The solution is to engage the roof, then pop out the four sides as was shown in one of the videos. Also productive to watch the “take down” videos as to properly fold the hub for storage.

Warm
Took this out on the lake during a cold weekend in northern MN. -10 f. and -30 f. windchill. We use foam mats for the floor and a big buddy heater on medium. Did go through 1.5 20lb tanks, but we stayed warm enough to not wear jackets. Got pretty frosty, but not as much as our non insulated eskimo fatfish 949 in +20 f. With the frost was a pretty big pain to get back into the carry bag. And I wish it had better or more reflection tape. No issues with quality and we are happy we got it. A little more room than the 949 as well. Works well for 3 people. 4 is doable, 2 is ideal.

Good investment
Good investment to keep toasty on the ice. Held up good in the wind with the anchors provided. Easy to put up and take down.

WOW!
Finally sprung for a new shanty this year and I am impressed. A little bit heavy but it was spacious and holds the heat in great. I regularly spend around 12 hours on the ice and this shanty made it even more enjoyable

Great comfort, easy set up
Personally, used as a summer tent in cooler night temperatures. The set up, take down, and privacy of the tent was just as expected. The temperatures waking up were a little bit warm during these summer months, but overall was most comfortable. I recommend it if it is a one time set up for camp, otherwise it would be a hassle to carry multiple times for a hike

Best bang for your buck, great quality ice shelter, easy set up, well insulated and the over size storage bag makes it easy to put away at the end of a long day of ice fishing, I wish there was more air vents or an option to open up the windows in the shelter unfortunately these windows are stitched shut.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for myself and Canât wait to try this out when Penetang Bay freezes over!Jan update: Used the x-400 for 2 weekends now on Cooks Bay, ON where the temps were -22c and -30c with the wind chill and the tent was nice and warm after about 10 mins with our big buddy heater on high, room for 4 holes and 5 guys inside! Well worth the purchase and highly recommend this seller too! With four guys theres lots of room for gear, cooler, heater, packs etc, with the 5th guy it starts to get a little tight.Feb 27, 2022 Update, been out almost every weekend on the ice and the x-400 is holding up nicely, no issues and today there were up to 50km/hr winds and had all tether lines out and anchored inside as well and no issues, setting up in high winds can be tricky and need to make sure you have that 1st anchor set before popping out the sides!March 12, 2022 update: was out today again on Cookâs Bay in 50km/hr+ winds and the tent held up no problems with 3 anchors in! So far no issues this season

Extremely fast shipping, received it in 4 business days. Used the shelter three times this week on Lake Winnipeg. Wind was strong and temperatures were – 20C. No problems heating the x400 with a big buddy heater. Easy setup and take downTotally satisfied

The product itself is great but somehow, I’m assuming during shipment someone cut the box open and actually cut through the carrying bag. Disappointed about that but doesn’t affect the shelter itself.
