Easy and Makes You Feel Good.
I was trying to be more health conscious because I am stuck in an office all day and I am unable to fit in adequate work out time. This book is great. It is informative and easy to understand. I’m out of shape in the sense of I’m thin but my flexibility and strength is going. Needless to say my fitness level is not the greatest. This book was really useful and helped me get ideas to craft a work out plan for myself that I can easily try to fit in at home in my spare time.My friend gave me a therapy ball awhile back when I went on a “health” kick and attempted to be ore fit. I bought myself a yoga mat and signed up for a few classes. My friend thought I would like the therapy ball. I never used it. While browsing through amazon, I saw this book and decided to give it a shot. The book is informative and teaches you how to use a therapy ball without any experience. The pictures helped a lot in me trying to learn how to use it. I’m really self-conscious about my physical fitness abilities and I’m a klutz. The pictures guided me and I am actually able to do the exercises without much difficulty as a beginner. Try it out!

Therapy Balls for a self massage
When I picked up this book I thought a therapy ball was just one of those big ones you see at the gym or the ones you sit on instead of a chair. But I was wrong, a therapy ball is all different sizes and you can use them in all different ways. I think the pictures are well done. It’s concise, easy to read and follow. I like the list of the different types of balls to use. There are so many different workouts for the each muscle groups and area of the body. I also like the helpful variations and modification for some of the workouts, which really helps out.I have a friend who is a massage therapist and I showed her this book. She said she has recommended some of these therapy ball workouts as self massage ideas to her clients to do at home. She said it’s a great way to massage a specific area with the balls in between a massage. She said she would not have a problem suggesting these self massage ideas to her clients. Now she said she has a book to reference.

I really enjoy trying new work outs
I really enjoy trying new work outs. My family and friends tease me because I always like to try something new. For my birthday, my boyfriend bought me this book and my own therapy ball. I’ve wanted to try this type of work out for so long, because I wanted to be able to work out at home, in front of my TV- and this helps me do that! I LOVE THIS BOOK. This is my new favorite work out book. This book starts you out with the very beginning- there’s even a program called the “start-up routine” to help you get acquainted with how to use this ball! I have always, always hated push-ups. They are the bane of my work-out existence. But doing push-ups with this ball is so much fun. It focuses on proper alignment and it is so great to do. I also love doing the spine/neck lengthener- it feels so good. This book is a great introduction to learning how to do a therapy ball work-outs. This book has chapters on how to use this as a self-massage, a self-assessment of flexibility, and more. It also has a detailed “before you begin” section, which is filled with really good points. Don’t expect this work-out to be a miracle overnight thing, but it is a fun, unique work-out that can be really beneficial. If you’re looking for something new, TRY THIS ONE!

Great exercises for people in rehab and beyond!
I originally bought this book for my Aunt who has been going through rehab for her knee but after flipping through it to make sure it was the right book for her, I realized it had some great tips beyond rehab. Karl really has shown that therapy balls have applications beyond, but including, rehab. There are some great ideas for stretches or massages in the book. The book is laid out in a really easy to read manner. There are great graphics and photos to help you understand the muscle systems in your body and how to stretch them properly. I really enjoyed Karl’s writing as well; he’s educational but also not condescending in his tone. He’s got a friendly and approachable style that’s really accessible.I think the biggest advantage that these workouts offer is that they are easy and you can do them at home. As an advocate for at-home workouts, this is perfect. I can grab any ball, from a golf ball in my club bag or a balance ball, and start stretching or massaging myself.

So many tools for both working out and self-massage
I’ve been using a lacrosse ball for years to help ease the tension in my IT band and glutes, as well as shoulder strain from various other sports and even just working at the computer. I’m so glad I found this book to help diversify my self-massage and show how to get even more out of the lacrosse ball and other size balls as well. And I never even thought of using small balls as actual strengthening tools similar to the way you’d use a larger stability ball (aka a yoga ball). The best part about Therapy Ball Workbook for me was that it doesn’t have a lot of extra material (for example, there’s no chapter on nutrition) and really just focuses on the exercises, which are explained with easy-to-follow instructions and very well illustrated with photographs. There are seven programs you can follow for everything from core stability to a whole-body workout to stretching and relaxing the whole body, so I’m sure athletes (or even non-athletes) of all levels will get great use out of this book.
