A Little Heavy But very Strong and Sturdy
So I thought about just getting a regular lightweight foldable walking stick but decided to go with this walking stick instead since this is a tactical walking stick, survival, and all since you will never know when you need it. This is a little on the heavy side being made with thick Aluminum Alloy, that will not break or bend easily. It has a nice non-slip grip with a heavy T-handle that doubles as a hammer when needed. If you prefer to use it without the T-handle then there is an extra rubber boot I suppose you can place it over the open-top tube to cover it up. It would be nice to include a proper cover top to use for people who do not want to use the handle. For me, I prefer the T-handle. There is no wrist strap by the way but I am sure I can come up with something :). As for the tools, they are made with non-rust Stainless Steel I believe, very sharp so be extra careful handling them. These tools are well hidden inside the walking stick which is so versatile to have. I hope that I won’t need to use them but it’s good to have them for survival if needed. Easy to take apart or put together and it comes with a very nice carrying sling bag with compartments for each part or tube as well as a front zipper pouch to keep your personal things in. Quite impressive overall, and I am glad I got this over a regular walking stick even though it’s a little heavier to use but very sturdy for sure.

    Interesting hunk of aluminum
I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into when I ordered, but it looked interesting and reconfigurable. The pictures don’t really show you all the detail. You can see what they list. I would list the parts as: – 7 short tubes – 3 blades – 1 extra shrot tube with a threaded hole in the side – 1 male endcap – 1 female endcap – 2 feet – storage sling backpackLength, my measurements:7 tubes + 3 knifes + t-handle or endcap = 54″7 tubes + 3 knifes + t-handle screwed on straight with hole or bump = 57″Both are probably longer than you’d need, so if you want straight, I’d probably just lose the t-handle.The details say it gets longer when you use it straight. Uhh, well, if you don’t mind having the top section with a hole in the side or plugged with the other end of the t-handle (pictured). So, no, I’d say it’s the same length when you use it straight handled. You actually get 7 short tubes. The reason they show 4 short & 3 long tubes is because they put the knives in 3 of the short tubes. Not a consequential distinction, but it might change how you think you can configure it. It also matter about the length. The lengths shown don’t include the blades. They show you the t-handle with a removable cap. What they DON’T show you is that both endcaps come off and there is a threaded hole in the side. The only way to plug the hole is to use the male endcap, making for an oddball end (pictured). So, if you are going straight grip, you might just want to remove the handle from the equation entirely, remove the female endcap and top it off at the same length. With so many sections, it’s probably not an issue. The t-handle has an arrow on it. That is not pointing to the side you should take off to attach it as a straight handle. That is an indicator for where the glass breaker point is. Underneath there is a small little pointed bit of different metal, steel, I’d assume. So, that marker is sort of like the markers for where the different blades are.The blades are … very shiny. They are dull and I imagine I’ll break them if I get a bit rough.Though the way they are attached, 2 bolts through the tang, I could fashion myself some replacements if I really wanted. Just have to mind the tight dimensions. One blade has a release button for changing between 3 positions. Interesting feature, though I don’t know how much high-branch pruning I’ll be doing in the forest. The storage bag/sling backpack, is fairly cheap, but not so bad. It is specifically made for this stick though. There are 10 separate tube slots. So, you can break this whole thing down and each segment gets it’s own spot. Though I wish they would have provided a more compact storage solution. Then I could provide the preferred backpack. Oh well. Chances are the pack will only be used for when it’s stored in the garage. The foot is just a friction fit. Seems to say on OK. But I suspect there’s a reason they included a spare. One of the sections has the brand “aiGear” etched in it. Funny thing is, it’s upside down. So, if you screw it into the t-handle, it will be prominently displayed … upside down. So, I just took it and used it at the bottom. It’s not part hidden by the foot. Well, if you’re going to put it upside down… I don’t really like logos anyway, so it works out.It is not the lightweight hiking stick one might assume with something labeled as a hiking stick. It weights 1.670 kg / 3.682 lbs using all the parts, minus the extra foot. It’s more of a “survival stick”. It’s kinda silly, something I’d have bought when I was a teenager, but also still kinda fun.Either way, it is certainly one serious chunk of aluminum.

    More Tacti-cool than Tactical
PROS:-Storage bag is nice with dividers for each piece of the stick to fit in. The shoulder strap is adjustable and comfortable.-The CNC machining and finishing on the pieces are top notch.-There are rubber washers on each section that help lock the threads together and should help with any water penetration.-Modular design to setup the stick for various situations and uses.-Could be a very effective defensive weapon in certain situations. Just don’t miss what you’re aiming for because it’s like swinging a baseball bat. Slow to reset.CONS:-At around 3lbs this stick is very heavy and clunky. Takes a lot of time and effort to get to the tools and some pieces have to be disassembled and moved around in order to use the tools. Definitely not a quick “on the fly” type walking stick.-Included tools are just alright. They are fastened well to the threads but aince they have to fit inside of the tubes they are small so trying to do any real work would be time consuming and cumbersome. I question how durable they would really be under heavy usage also.-The metal knurled grips tear into your hands quickly when trying to seperate the pieces and would absolutely be freezing to hold during the winter time. Definitely requires gloves for extended handling.-No instructions were included and I can’t find a website for the company either. There are several versions of this stick and I would like to order another tube section but am unsure which part is correct.Overall this walking stick is built like a tank but not the most practical for what it is intended for. If you want a well made conversation piece then this “tactical” walking stick might be for you. Could be very useful in certain situations though and I think is a fair price for the quality of the machining.
